One-Punch Man is one of the funniest shonen series around, full to the brim with great subversions and the like that are a joy to witness. Saitama is a great hero who became instantly iconic with his very first appearance, showcasing a level of power that is so astronomically high that its generally used for laughs instead of taking anything seriously. He's so strong that any villain who is giving the regular S-Class and A-Class heroes will be nothing more than chump change for him.
Speaking of the latter, there are several A-Class heroes in One-Punch Man that have cropped up in the show who are a joy to witness in their own right. Their strength varies quite a bit, and here's a look at the strongest A-Class heroes in the show who have saved civilians time and time again.
10 Tanktop Vegetarian
The Tanktop heroes are extremely powerful and can use a combination of their boundless charisma and immense strength to win against their enemies. Tanktop Vegetarian is one of the many members of this group who in No. 9 in the A-Class rankings.
However, even all his strength isn't enough to take just a single punch from Garou. This speaks volumes of just how strong the Hero Killer is, with Tanktop Vegetarian being second in strength only to the S-Class hero, Tanktop Master.
9 Death Gatling
A man having a gun arm instantly qualifies him to be a hero in the eyes of many. Such is the case with Death Gatling, who is ranked 8 as an A-Class hero.
His firearm skills are truly unmatched and make him a force to be reckoned with. His skills are so good that he even managed to injure Garou, even though it took a platoon of A and B-Class heroes to achieve the same.
8 Magic Trick Man
The idea of a hero using basic magic tricks to "attack" a foe sounds absolutely ridiculous. However, with Magic Trick Man, his litany of tricks coupled with some extra-sharp poker cards make him a great mid-range hero.
He's also pretty ruthless and hates all villains, which is somewhat at odds with the usual charming personality of a street magician. He isn't afraid to straight-up kill heroes if he sees even one of them being slightly suspicious.
7 Blue Fire
At a glance, Blue Fire may seem like a regular hero who can summon fire to douse his foes. However, it's revealed later on that said fire was actually erupting from a bunch of portable flamethrowers he carries under his sleeves.
Regardless of the somewhat disappointing nature of his powers, there's no denying that Blue Fire is a pretty great hand-to-hand combatant. However, it's the lack of any innate powers that makes him slightly weaker than the other heroes on this list.
6 Heavy Tank Loincloth
Sometimes, all heroes need is monstrous physical strength to overpower the opposition. Heavy Tank Loincloth is one such character who can absolutely pulverize any villain if he decides to land a barrage of serious punches.
Heavy Tank Loincloth hits like a truck and sports immense durability, making him a good fighter on the front lines. It helps that this hero is considered to be on par with the S-Class heroes in terms of fighting ability, which is quite impressive indeed.
5 Bushidrill
The fact that Bushidrill has been taught by Atomic Samurai himself proves just how powerful a swordsman he really is. His senses are honed to superhuman levels, allowing him to deal with multiple attacks in the blink of an eye without being unfazed.
The best about this character is that his katana is in the shape of a drill, making him quite memorable indeed. It's easy to see why he and his buddies would've ascended to the level of an S-Rank had it not been for internal politics.
4 Okamaitachi
Speaking of heroes being tutored by Atomic Samurai, another name that comes to mind is Okamaitachi. She's an extremely powerful and adept swordsman who can hold her own in any battle, although the tougher ones do required the help of her team.
Her katana isn't pretty unique, even if its curved may make it stand out slightly. It's a shame that she never managed to reach the heights of an S-Rank hero and show what she's truly capable of.
3 Iaian
When it comes to being a swordsman, sometimes it's speed that decides the ultimate fate of a battle. Such is the case with Iaian, who is Atomic Samurai's top disciple for a reason.
He attacks with iai strikes, meaning that he can slash enemies before sheathing his sword in one fluid motion. This, coupled with his impressive strength, makes him the strongest member of the samurai trio.
2 Sweet Mask
Sweet Mask is more than just a hero — he's the highest ranking A-Class hero who can easily move into S-Class, but chooses not to. His intentions are pretty selfish, with Sweet Mask wanting to both preserve his image as a No. 1 hero while also preventing supposed "weaklings" from rising up the ranks.
He's extremely powerful, boasts immense speed, and can also regenerate his injuries at a rapid rate. All these reasons, coupled with his skilled hand-to-hand combat skills, made him a pretty deadly hero indeed.
1 Caped Baldy (Saitama)
Saitama has slowly risen up the ranks to become an A-Class hero after completely flunking the written test. Despite his official rank being so low, pretty much everyone fan of One-Punch Man knows that Saitama is the strongest character in the entire show bar none.
It's his nonchalant attitude and laziness that really works against him at times. However, given how calm and relaxed Saitama is about everything, it's hard to really fault him for it.
