Vivi is quite an important character in the One Piece world. She was introduced to the fans as an enemy of the Straw Hat Pirates during the Arabasta Saga, on Whiskey Peak. As a member of the Baroque Works, she created all sorts of problems for the Straw Hat Pirates, however, soon after, her true goals were revealed.

Vivi had actually infiltrated the organization to find out more information about the man pulling the strings from behind the shadows and laying ruin to her land. After being found out, Vivi was in desperate need of protection and that is where the Straw Hat Pirates stepped in. Offering her protection and a place to belong to, the crew aided her in liberating the land of Arabasta. Along the way, Vivi became an incredibly important character and an honorary remember of the crew. Although she never joined the crew officially, Vivi's importance to the story remains paramount. Currently, she is in quite a predicament and could well be central to one of the most important plot points in the final saga.

Vivi's Disappearance

After staying behind in the land of Arabasta, Vivi helped her father rule the kingdom. Being Cobra's daughter, she was all set to become the next monarch of the country and to rule justly, Vivi certainly needed to understand her country, its people, and above all, learn the art of ruling. During the two years, she certainly accomplished that to a great degree. Vivi is loved widely in her country, however, it seems that Oda's plans for her are more than just sitting behind and ruling.

During the Reverie, all the leaders of the major countries that are affiliated with the World Government gathered in the Holy Land of Mariejois and Vivi accompanied her father on this journey for the second time in her life. While Vivi certainly did enjoy parts of it, especially making new friends in Rebecca and Shirahoshi, the gathering turned out to be disastrous for her family. Somehow, King Cobra was murdered and his death was blamed on Sabo, the Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army. Meanwhile, Vivi completely disappeared and her whereabouts remain unknown to this day. Not even the Navy or the Revolutionary Army members have a clue about where she is.

Vivi And Imu

While nothing is known about what happened to Vivi just yet, fans can piece together hints about her current whereabouts based on when they last saw her. Vivi was seen during the Reverie arc, which Oda used to the fullest to draw some of the biggest mysteries in the series. Not only did fans get a deeper look at how the World Government rules from within, but it also gave fans an idea of the power dynamic within this organization. Above all, it introduced fans to the existence of the person known as the King of the World, namely Imu. Imu is a mysterious person who sits atop the Empty Throne deep in the heart of Mariejois.

They were also seen carrying Luffy's bounty poster in front of a giant straw hat that appeared to be centuries old. Interestingly, Imu also has connections to Vivi somehow. While the two have never met so far, Imu clearly has some interest in her. This was evident from the fact that he picked her picture out of a bunch that included the likes of Shirahoshi, Luffy, and even Blackbeard. Imu singling out Vivi means that she holds a certain level of importance to them. It is entirely possible that Vivi was somehow kidnapped by Imu themselves. While this is pure speculation, Vivi is clearly not with the members of the Revolutionary Army and she also isn't in the land of Arabasta. As such, it appears that she really has gotten kidnapped. When someone as powerful as the King of the World has their eyes on someone, it is likely that they will eventually get their hands on them.

Vivi's Role In The Future Of One Piece

One Piece is now finally in its final saga and previously, Oda teased three characters being important after the Wano Country arc. These characters were specifically teased by Oda to be in some sort of danger. The first one was Luffy's brother, Sabo, who Oda teased as being in trouble. As fans saw recently, Sabo's fate remains unknown after the destruction of Lulusia Kingdom. Similarly, Hancock found herself in great trouble when not just the Navy but also the Blackened Pirates invaded Amazon Lily. For now, Hancock is safe. However, her future is still pretty much in doubt. Vivi is the third character who Oda teased to be in some sort of danger in the final saga of the story.

As fans know already, she is currently missing. If she is indeed captured by Imu or the World Government in any way, then Vivi becomes central to a big plot point for the final saga. She might even serve as a trigger for the Great War that everyone knows is eventually coming. The Straw Hat Pirates would certainly rush to her rescue if news of her being in trouble eventually breaks out. Vivi is certainly going to be crucial to the final saga and will serve as a catalyst for the Final War in one way or another. What's more, fans might also see Vivi join the Straw Hat Pirates officially once she has been rescued from whatever predicament she is currently in. With the world in utter chaos, Vivi has no place to belong to and her relationship with the Straw Hat Pirates would certainly not be a problem anymore. Either way, she is sure to be extremely important in the final saga of One Piece.
