One Piece chapter 1064 was an incredibly exciting chapter filled with action, drama, and reveals. The chapter was divided into two sections, one focusing on the battle between the Blackbeard Pirates and the Heart Pirates, and the other on the events on Egghead Island. Fans were shocked to see that Oda decided to show the clash between Trafalgar Law and Blackbeard, as he has a notorious reputation for taking fights off-panel.

This has happened on various occasions before, so Oda's decision to illustrate the fight, it came off as a pleasant surprise. The fight between the two members of the Worst Generation is still ongoing, and it is quite difficult to call a victor, but the upcoming One Piece chapter should shed more light on it. It would be unwise to rule out Law, but Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi can nullify the power of any devil fruit, so that gives the Emperor an edge. Despite the chapter having such an epic clash between two of the Supernovas, the main highlight of the chapter came toward the end.

The Big Reveal

Vegapunk and Dragon interact

On the final page of the chapter, Shaka was having a conversation with someone, and it seemed that he was discussing his possible death. The identity of the person on the other end of the conversation was revealed in the very last panel of the chapter, and it was confirmed that the person Shaka was talking to was none other than Monkey D. Dragon. This was a huge revelation, and it drastically changes things in the story.

Even before the revelation, it was a prevalent theory that Dragon and Vegapunk had some sort of connection, and they planned the downfall of the World Government together. Judging by their conversation, it doesn't seem that Vegapunk and Dragon were interacting for the very first time. In fact, it seemed that the two had known each other for a long time. When Vegapunk stated that his death was imminent, Dragon asked him not to joke about such a thing, which Vegapunk ignored as he wanted to get directly to the point. So, the scientist continued and told Dragon that there was something that he would like to discuss with him.

How Did They Meet?

Dr Vegapunk from One Piece

Vegapunk has been serving the World Government for a very long time, and there is no doubt that he has learned many secrets about them, which could seriously affect them and even lead to their collapse. If Vegapunk and Dragon have been on good terms for a long time, it is possible that the two met before Dragon started the Revolutionary Army. There are many rumors that suggest that Dragon used to be a member of the Marines, which is when he met Vegapunk.

With Dragon's departure, Vegapunk had to come up with a new way to leak secrets to the Revolutionary Army. After racking their brains, they decided to use Bartholomew Kuma to smuggle out information. There are several pieces of evidence that back up this claim of Kuma still serving the Revolutionary Army.

For starters, Kuma was already a part of the Revolutionary Army, and it didn't make sense for a person who knew all about the corruption of the World Government to actually go and offer to be a pawn for them unless there was some ulterior motive. Another piece of evidence is the statement from Bonney, who said that she had visited the laboratory on Egghead Island when she was a child, and in another panel, Kuma could be seen wearing what seemed to be a scientist's uniform. This implies that Kuma might have worked with Dr. Vegapunk, which is how they came to know each other.

Vegapunk's Fate

Shaka talking to Dragon

Vegapunk claimed that he did not have much time left before he would be killed, and it has already been confirmed that the members of CP0 are on their way to Egghead Island to destroy all the bodies of Dr. Vegapunk. So, if he truly believes he is going to die, he may be preparing to reveal sensitive information about the World Government. It is possible that the World Government found out about Vegapunk's secret or that they think that he has served his purpose. It looks unlikely that the Revolutionary Army will be able to help Vegapunk, but the Straw Hats might have a say.

Before the Straw Hats make a decision on whether to help Vegapunk or not, it is very likely that they are going to ask him why he turned Bonney's father into a cyborg, and depending on his answer, Bonney would either let him live or kill him. Another thing to keep in mind is that Zoro mentioned that the Straw Hat Pirates have some demands, the nature of which remains unclear. So, Vegapunk can also offer his services to them in exchange for being guaranteed his safety.

Also, if the Revolutionary Army gets involved with the events happening on Egghead Island, it is possible that Dragon might finally meet his son. The two of them have not met each other in a very long time, and this might be the last opportunity before the Revolutionary Army goes all out. One thing is for certain, the upcoming chapters promise to be very exciting, so the fans are definitely in for a treat.
