But when he consumes the rare and covered gum-gum fruit (also called a Devil Fruit), a fruit with magic properties that are sought after by many adventurers, he gains the ability to stretch and bend his body in incredible ways. This ability is how he becomes the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, and helps him get out of plenty of dangerous situations throughout the story.
In Japan, One Piece is one of the most popular anime around, and has been enjoyed by people of all ages for decades now. Japan places a lot of emphasis on the appearance of food, and what you get will likely always look just like the photograph. Add to that Japan’s love of anime-themed foods, and you get amazing results like this picture-perfect gum-gum fruit cake.
