8 Her Voice

Uta Wings One Piece Film Red

Uta is an incredibly wonderful singer, as is made clear immediately at the beginning of One Piece Film: Red. She has a heavenly voice with the power to change the entire world.

Using this voice, Uta aims to usher in a new era, and this is known to have been her dream from a very young age. Thanks to her brilliant voice, Uta has become a phenomenon in the One Piece world. So much so, that even Brook, the musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, believes that he doesn't hold a candle to her ability.

7 Her Hair

One of the most iconic things about Uta's character design is her hair. Oda has worked wonderfully on her design and has split her hair into two colors. Her hair is parted in the middle, with the left side of her hair being red, and the right side being white. While that is an interesting color scheme for her hair, what's even more interesting is how her hair acts.

When Uta is excited, her hair perks up, just like a rabbit's ears, and when she is down, her hair falls down. Although this isn't all that important, it is a nice touch from Oda to make her even more interesting as a character.

6 Figarland Family

The Figarland Family is a family with royal bloodline in the One Piece world. It is highly likely that this family has ties to the Celestial Dragons themselves. While not much is known about them, it is speculated that Uta is connected to them somehow.

It is likely that Shanks, her father, is a member or a descendant of the Figarland Family and, Uta, being his daughter, is thought to be a member of this family as well. Whether or not she holds a connection to this family remains unknown to this date.

5 Older Than Luffy

Uta spent quite a significant amount of her childhood with Luffy. When the Red Hair Pirates set camp in the East Blue, Uta followed them and spent a lot of time with Luffy. The two became incredibly close friends and competed with each other for everything, especially for Shanks' love.

4 Overpowered Devil Fruit

Uta is also a Devil Fruit user, as seen in One Piece Film: Red. She is a user of the Uta Uta no Mi, which is an incredibly powerful Devil Fruit. The main power of this fruit allows her to transport the souls of people to the Uta world, where she holds tremendous power and is believed to be invincible.

Uta has complete control over the Uta world and breaking out from there is incredibly difficult. At the same time, this Devil Fruit also allows her to use music as a weapon, as seen in the beginning stages of One Piece Film: Red.

3 Only Known Female Red Hair Pirate

The Red Hair Pirates are a powerful pirate crew in the One Piece world that rule in the New World as one of the Yonko crews. They are led by none other than Red-Haired Shanks, a pirate worth 4 billion berries.

Shanks' crew doesn't have even a single female member. Uta is the only female member this crew has had in its entire history. She used to be the musician of the Red Hair Pirates and still claims to hold this position.

2 Her Creation

One Piece Film Red Shanks And His Daughter Uta

Uta was created by Oda because he wanted to change the formula for One Piece movies. Usually, all the One Piece movies feature a strong, powerful, old man standing in Luffy's way as the main villain. This time around, Oda specifically wanted a female character to be the heroine and the antagonist at the same time.

Thus, Uta was born. She has become so popular that Oda has incorporated her into the original story as well. Uta is, by all means, a canon character, even though the events of One Piece Film: Red might not be fully canon. Uta also made her debut in the One Piece manga towards the end of One Piece 1055.

1 Her Fate

Uta and shanks

One of the biggest mysteries about Uta is her fate towards the end of One Piece Film: Red. After eating multiple wake-shrooms, Uta was significantly exhausted at the end of the movie. In fact, her physical health was deteriorating at an extraordinary rate. While Hongo, the doctor of the Red Hair Pirates, provided medicine for her, Uta chose not to consume it.

She then went on to leave Elegia with the rest of the Red Hair Pirates. Her fate remains unknown at the moment, however, it is possible that she is dead. That said, nothing has been confirmed as of yet and Uta could very much make an appearance in the latter half of the manga.
