One Piece 1058 dropped earlier today and, as expected, it was quite an information-heavy chapter. After every arc, Oda usually goes over the ongoing events all over the world. In Wano, no information from the outside flowed in. As such, now that the Straw Hat Pirates were out of the country, it was expected for the story to cover these events. This week's chapter saw Oda dump a lot of information about the bounties of the crew.
What's more, Oda took an even deeper dive into the organization known as the Cross Guild, which was recently introduced in the story. The very functioning of the Cross Guild was revealed to the fans. Furthermore, the likes of Mihawk, Crocodile, and Buggy left quite an impression in the chapter, and to top things off, One Piece touched upon the subject of Flame Emperor Sabo towards the end.
The New Straw Hat Bounties
Fans have been waiting in anticipation for the new bounties of the Straw Hat Pirates ever since the war of Wano wrapped up. Luffy, who was recently promoted to the status of a Yonko, had his bounty revealed in a newspaper alongside that of Buggy. However, the rest of the crew didn't have their bounties revealed until recently. With the pirates now out of Wano Country, newspapers and bounty posters are easily accessible to them. One Piece 1058 saw a News Coo bring a newspaper and all the updated bounties of the now Emperor crew to the Sunny.
There are certainly quite a few interesting updates that Oda has made to the figures. For one, Chopper's bounty of 1000 berries is still treated like a gag. Nami, the navigator of the crew, has a bounty of 366 million berries. Following her is "Dead Bones" Brook, who has a bounty of 383 million berries. Franky has a bounty of 394 million berries, however, the most interesting bit about his bounty is that he is pictured as the Sunny instead. Knowing Oda, this could very well come into play later in the story. Usopp, meanwhile, had a 500 million berries bounty.
Expectedly, Nico Robin has a very high bounty. She is the key to the One Piece and, as such, deserves high recognition. To the likes of Dragon, she is the Light of the Revolution. Whereas to the World Government, she is quite possibly the biggest threat. After deciphering three of the Four Road Poneglyphs and taking down a Tobiroppo, Black Maria, Nico Robin has earned herself a very high bounty of 930 million berries. Meanwhile, the strongest combatants on the crew, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe have high bounties as well. Currently, Zoro's bounty is 1,111,000,000 berries, while Jinbe follows him with 1,100,000,000 berries. Finally, Sanji has a bounty of 1,032,000,000 berries. While Sanji's bounty is certainly lower than Jinbe's, he is still the second strongest Commander of Luffy, after Zoro. Jinbe's status as one of the former Warlords of the Sea and the high respect that he commands has ensured that his bounty is higher.
Inside The Cross Guild
The majority of One Piece 1058 focused heavily on the Cross Guild. This organization was recently introduced to the fans in the last few chapters of Wano Country. Expectedly, it was weird to see Buggy being named its head with the likes of Crocodile and Mihawk under him. One Piece 1058 showed the pirate clown in a sad state. Having taken the position of the leader of the group in the eyes of the world and then becoming one of the Emperors of the Sea has certainly upset both crocodile and Mihawk. Fans also got to see how this organization came together in the first place. After Buggy's revocation of the Shichibukai status, Crocodile went to collect his debt, and, being broke, Buggy offered himself and his group to his services. Crocodile then went on to contact Mihawk to create an organization to oppose the Navy.
Since Buggy's men worked on the promotion for the organization, he was accidentally made to seem like its leader in the eyes of the world. The chapter then went on to reveal the bounties of these individuals to the world. The World's Strongest Swordsman, Dracule Mihawk, is known to have a bounty of 3,590,000,000 berries, and he's followed by Buggy, who has acquired a bounty of 3,189,000,000 berries. Finally, the former warlord of the Sea, Sir Crocodile has a bounty of 1,965,000,000 berries. Evidently, the Cross Guild looks to be quite a dangerous organization with such powerful figures and its head.
One Piece 1058 finally concluded with a look at the Kamabakka Kingdom. While all the Commanders of the Revolutionary Army seem to have returned unharmed from their declaration of war on the Celestial Dragons at the Reverie, Sabo isn't with them. However, at the end of the chapter, the Flame Emperor finally contacts Dragon. Fans will now be looking forward to hearing the truth about the incident that took place in Mariejois.
