A brand new OlliOlli game is on the way. Nintendo hosted its latest Indie World Showcase today, and developer Roll7 took the opportunity to show the newest game in the skateboarding series: OlliOlli World.

The OlliOlli games have reviewed rather well after the original took the gaming world by storm in 2014. Fans have been eagerly waiting for something new from Roll7 in the series, and the wait appears to be have been worth it. The OlliOlli games are usually simplistic but fun arcade challenge course-styled games, but Roll7 has been developing an action-platformer with OlliOlli World.

According to its announcement during the Indie World Showcase, OlliOlli World is all about exploring, creativity, and the wonderfully weird sides of skateboarding. Creative director John Ribbins shared the game during the event, and both his explanation and the footage make it clear that OlliOlli World is a different experience than the games before it. The silky-smooth skateboarding gameplay of OlliOlli looks to still be here, but there are now colorful characters, side quests, and more in this adventure that is launching in winter 2021 for Switch, as well as PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Along with the gameplay reveal and an announcement during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, an official trailer also went live for OlliOlli World after the event. The trailer shows more footage and more about the developer's vision behind the game. The character design, storytelling, and gameplay elements are all on display in both of the trailers, and it appears that OlliOlli World may have a lot more depth than its predecessors.

OlliOlli World is set to release winter 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
