One of the big surprises of the Devolver Direct broadcast this afternoon was that Olija, the latest game from Skeleton Crew Studio, was launching today. For the time being, Olija remains unavailable, leading to quite a bit of confusion, but if the Devolver Direct announcement is to be believed, it should be coming soon.

Olija is an action-adventure game about a man shipwrecked in the mysterious country of Terraphage. The protagonist, Faraday, discovers a legendary harpoon, with which they plan to escape the country alongside other castaways. Olija features is a surprisingly narrative-focused game, told through a variety of cinematic action.

The trailer for Olija during today's Devolver Direct ended with a panel saying that the game was available now on both Nintendo Switch and Steam. However, as of right now it's not available on either platform. The Steam profile lists 2020 as the release window and Olija doesn't even pull up a profile on the Switch eShop. It's possible that the game hasn't been uploaded yet, but it's also possible that the announcement Olija is launching today is also false.

olija available now

While Olija wasn't the biggest announcement of the Devolver Direct, with games including Shadow Warrior 3, Serious Sam 4, and Fall Guys also featured, it was very much an exciting reveal. Hopefully, the matter of Olija's release is clarified soon, whether it means the game comes out or a more accurate release window is announced.

Olija is coming to PC and Nintendo Switch.
