Okami is one of Capcom's many cult classics. The title is based loosely on Japanese mythology with a striking and beautiful artstyle, directed by Hideki Kamiya, a former game developer at Capcom's defunct Clover Studio. Despite the game's poor sales, it has slowly built up a devoted fanbase that loves its art and unique story. The game has since been ported over to several different consoles, with Okami's HD remaster now available on all modern consoles. It also includes a lot of merchandise for its many characters, with one of the latest being a nendoroid figure by Good Smile Company.

Shiranui is a historical hero and past incarnation of Amaterasu from 100 years in the past of Okami's universe. He died before the events of the game, being poisoned by the villainous Orochi. Through the use of some time travel, the game has Amaterasu teaming up with Shiranui to defeat Orochi in the past, and then later in the present day as the pair teams against Lechku and Nechku. The character would then go on to appear in Okami's sequel, Okamiden, where he helps out Chibiterasu, the son of Amaterasu and by extension, Shiranui's grandson.

Back in February, some early screenshots were shared by Good Smile Company regarding the first look at the Shiranui Nendoroid. Recently, fully colored screenshots of the figure were revealed, as well as the pre-orders being opened. The figure will come with various accessories like a tiny representation of the character's Celestial Envoy, Ishaku, and his Reflector Solar Flare. The figure will be released with a standard and deluxe editions.

The Deluxe version of this Okami Nendoroid will come with the aforementioned accessories, along with some others. This includes a Bead Rosary and his sword, the Glaive Thunder Edge. There will also be a special howling faceplate that could be swapped out, which allows for greater customization and unique poses. A special bonus will be included with pre-orders of this Deluxe edition, where fans can obtain a special Sparrow and Food Dish accessory.

This Nendoroid's pre-orders are open starting from today and will end October 7, 2021. The figure is also looking to be released in June 2022. While this news isn't the desired sequel to Okami, fans can still enjoy this lovely figure of the beloved character, pairing it up with the currently released Amaterasu Nendoroid figure.

Okami is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
