The boomtown of Oresrush has seen better days, but thanks to Partitio, it's also seen worse. The town is on the mend as Octopath Traveler 2 begins, but there are still some people who need help with their side stories when the party shows up.

Both side quests in Oresrush can be completed without leaving town, but they can be easy or hard depending on which party members players have collected by this point. One of them requires the party to ask around town for information, and the other one needs a knockdown action. Partitio can't do either, so he'll need to find some outside help from other parts of Octopath Traveler 2.

Stolen Goods

Octopath Traveler 2 Stolen Goods

Head over to the Abandoned Silver Mine exit to spot a Peddler bemoaning his fate. It turns out he lost his inventory to a fake merchant, and he's stuck unless he can somehow get it back.

To find the culprit, head north of town to the Foundry area. There's an NPC here called a Boorish Merchant, and he's standing guard over a doorway. The merchant stands guard here day and night, so any knockdown Action like Ambush or Challenge will get him out of the way. Inside the building is a single chest with the key item Stocked Goods inside, so bring it back to the Peddler to get a reward of 3,000 leaves, a Light Nut, and a Healing Grape (M).

Wanted: A Good Joke

Octopath Traveler 2 Wanted: A Good Joke

One of Partitio's old buddies, Joe, is standing by the town provisioner and wants a good joke that will make someone laugh. That someone is the Composed Woman inside the provisioner shop, but talking with her won't go anywhere. Instead, the party needs to find Partitio's other friends.

The first friend is Harry, who stands by the staircase to the left of the inn. Use an information-gathering Action on him to get Harry's Self-Depreciating Joke. Next, climb the staircase and speak to Nikki to get Nikki's Special Joke. Finally, go to the tavern to find Ned and get Ned's Romantic Advice. All three friends are available day and night, so any info Action will do.

Once players have all three bits of advice, Joe will combine them all into a single joke. It's not very good, but things turn out better than expected and Joe rewards the party's efforts with 3,500 leaves and an Invigorating Nut (M). Not a bad payment for doing what Joe should've done on his own.

Octopath Traveler 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
