The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is a game that is over 15 years old now. Releasing in 2006, the open-world fantasy RPG took players to the Imperial Capital of Cyrodiil, where they must stop an invasion from the Daedra. Despite its age, many Elder Scrolls fans still sing praises of Oblivion, and it has received significant critical acclaim in the years since its release.

Fans of the Elder Scrolls games often compare the released titles, with Skyrim and Oblivion particularly facing comparisons over side-quests, plot, gameplay and even minor things like the effectiveness of the Thieves Guild in both Skyrim and Oblivion. Something that is shared between both Bethesda RPGs though is the prevalence of glitches within the games. Bethesda games often release with the odd bug here and there, and now one Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion player has discovered a glitch that sees them quite literally take to new heights within the game.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion player posted a video of their character appearing to float high above the ground within the game and walking on air. Fans of the game commented under the Reddit post with quick-witted responses, one of which claimed the player had discovered "levitation magic," while others pretended as if nothing unusual was happening, and that this experience was entirely normal for Oblivion. In truth, hilarious bugs like these do appear in Oblivion and Skyrim often, such as an infamous Skyrim glitch which allows giants to send players hurtling towards the sun.

Most of the comments appear to be appreciative of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, and how it can still create great experiences for players today. People are still playing Oblivion, even doing so competitively, as one player recently showed by speedrunning Oblivion and completing its main quest in just over two and a half minutes.

It's not just the playerbase showing love for Oblivion though, as content from both Oblivion and its predecessor Morrowind made it into the anniversary edition of Skyrim. On top of that, Oblivion received a random update on the Xbox 360 in November of 2021, leading many to speculate what may lie in the future of the game.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
