Nvidia sold out of its Ada Lovelace RTX 4090 graphics card within two weeks, according to the company itself. With the new generation of GPUs almost in full swing, with AMD releasing its RX 7900 card this month, the race continues to see which of the tech giants will reign supreme in the graphical hardware market. Generally speaking, team green typically comes out on top in this bout, and despite how pricey its newest products are, it looks as though people have been buying them in droves.

There's also been some pretty bad news coming CEO Jensen Huang's way as it was recently revealed that Nvidia RTX 4090 GPUs had problems with melting, with the company frantically trying to address this issue, saying that it knows of at least 50 incidents worldwide. Coupled with the fact that this new-gen graphics card is currently priced at around $1,500 minimum, it's a wonder anyone has been inclined to upgrade their current setup, but it appears as though the recently released Ada Lovelace has been flying off the shelves.

That's according to Nvidia itself, as reported by WCCFTech. Chief Financial Officer for the tech firm, Colette Kress, said that within two weeks, the RTX 4090 graphics card had sold out, with the company reporting "strong sales" for the latest architecture in its GPU range, shipping 100,000 units since launching the product back in October. Alongside this, Nvidia says its inventory will be "back to normal" by the end of this year and as the market moves into 2023, which means sales numbers are likely to increase in the new year. In any case, it's interesting that team green has managed to sell out of the AD102-powered card, despite criticisms and the hefty price tag.

Nvidia RTX 4090

Nvidia revealed its RTX 4090 in September, kick-starting the next generation of graphics hardware, with AMD closely following with its RDNA 2 tech. The 4090 is currently the most powerful GPU on the market, boasting 24 GB of GDDR6X VRAM, a 384-bit bus, and 16,384 CUDA cores. It's also physically enormous, with some people making memes and mocking remarks about the sheer size of the GPU.

Now that Intel has entered the race with its Arc graphics cards, and AMD is nipping at the heels of Nvidia with its upcoming RX 7900, the GPU world is getting ever more competitive. There are more choices for PC gamers these days, but most would agree that some of the more powerful models are far too costly to justify paying for. However, it doesn't appear to have slowed down Nvidia's sales.
