There's absolutely no mature way to phrase this, so I'll just go ahead and say it: Girl has finally reached Uranus. That's right, a new level has finally been unlocked in the bizarre PSN title Noby Noby Boy.

Levels in Noby Noby Boy are unlocked by the community, as they stretch out their characters and contribute their total length to a being known as Girl. As more and more players contribute, Girl grows longer until she reaches a new planet, which also opens up new areas for players.

It took the community a total of 1,045 days to reach the planet Uranus, which really is no small feat. Distances between planets are actually based on their real life measurements, meaning that as Girl has grown, so has the distance needed to reach the next planet.

As a game, Noby Noby Boy doesn't really have an objective. The whole "point" of the game is just to keep stretching Boy and contribute to the length of Girl. Once the player has stretched to their limit, they can shrink themselves back down to normal size and start all over again. The fact that people have been doing this enough to contribute 2.57 billion km to the length of Girl (shortest distance from Earth to Uranus) is quite remarkable, especially for a game that has no actual objectives.

The next stop on Girl's path is the planet Neptune, at this point it looks like Girl will be able to reach the planet - especially considering how dedicated the game's community seems to be. The time it took to reach Uranus was just over 2 and a half years, so at this point the possibility of reaching the next planet doesn't seem so far off. My only questions are: does the Noby Noby Boy team still consider Pluto a planet? And what will happen once we reach the end of the solar system. As dedicated as the community is, I have a hard time believing they'll be able to reach Proxima Centauri.

Noby Noby Boy is available now on PSN, there is also an iOS version available.
