Fans of Grasshopper Manufacturer's No More Heroes series are no doubt anticipating its upcoming sequel, No More Heroes 3, which is slated to release later this year. While the No More Heroes titles started out on Nintendo Wii, with a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 remaster of the original game in the form of No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise releasing in 2010, the series has found a new home on Nintendo Switch in the past few years, with Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes starting out as a Switch exclusive in early 2019. While the game eventually made its way to PlayStation 4 later that year, it was only after the announcement that No More Heroes 3 would be a full Switch exclusive, with Nintendo even handling the game's marketing.
All of this begs the question though, with No More Heroes 3 slated for release later this year, why have the first two titles not been brought to Nintendo Switch? In July 2019 series creator Goichi "Suda51" Suda responded to this question in an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, specifically in regards to the titles coming to PlayStation 4. "Yes. We’re currently in talks with [intellectual property holder] Marvelous to make that happen," Suda stated. "It’s in positive consideration, so I hope we’ll be able to make a good announcement." Marvelous published the first two titles on Nintendo Wii.
It seems like the fruits of Suda's labor may finally become a reality very soon as the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, which recently leaked Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time before its official announcement, has posted a listing of No More Heroes for Nintendo Switch. The listing references Marvelous as the publisher and lists no release date, but given that submission to ratings classification is something that happens closer to the release of games, it's safe to assume we won't have to wait too long to relive Travis Touchdown's glory days. The listing also features the same art as the European release of the Nintendo Wii game, implying that this will not be a port of No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise.
With No More Heroes 3 on the horizon, it stands to reason that both long-time fans and newcomers will be excited to relive Travis's original adventures on the Nintendo Switch. While Suda51 has made a recent habit of trolling fans with No More Heroes 3 teases, it has made fans uncertain that the game will release within the next four months, so re-releasing the original titles would be the perfect way to hold fans over if No More Heroes 3 gets delayed. It is worth noting that there is still not any evidence of No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle coming to Nintendo Switch, however it is fair to assume that both of the original titles will come to the platform before No More Heroes 3.
