With Suda51's next game, No More Heroes 3, being on the horizon, the director has been giving interviews to give fans an idea of what to expect. After nearly a decade between No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle and No More Heroes 3, fans have been eagerly anticipating this game. While the game will be out in a couple of weeks, some fans wonder what could possibly be next after this entry. In an interview with GameXplain, Suda51 detailed the possible future ahead for No More Heroes.

The interview detailed some of the creative decisions made during the development of No More Heroes 3. One of which was the inspiration for the new alien bosses that Travis is facing in the game, with Suda51 making a lot of comparisons between them to other media like Watchmen or The Boys. The latter in particular was a large inspiration, with Suda managing to get into contact with Darick Robertson, the illustrator of The Boys, to create the key art of the game. Aside from that, one of the questions asked was regarding another character that is appearing in No More Heroes 3, Shinobu Jacobs, the self-appointed student of Travis Touchdown.

Suda was asked if there would be any interest for a spin-off game focused on Shinobu Jacobs. Suda agreed, saying that he considered possible spin-offs for her and other characters too. The caveat in his own words is that the No More Heroes IP isn't solely owned by him. "Marvelous owns a majority of the IP and Grasshopper owns a part of it. The problem is we can’t go off and do whatever we want with these characters, but everyone at Grasshopper is really conscious of Shinobu’s importance as a character, and she’s even iconic to some fans." Suda said. He followed up by saying that he'd love to develop her further in some fashion, be it a new game or guest appearance in an indie game.

One of the other questions Suda was asked was regarding the possibility of No More Heroes 4, with him also saying yes, but it would also require co-operation between Marvelous and Grasshopper. He did put out a hypothetical scenario of what it would be like, citing Rocky 4 as the kind of direction he'd take No More Heroes 4. Furthermore, he stated that the game would take place ten years in the future, both in real time and in-game to achieve this effect, pitting Travis against a powerful opponent, much like Ivan Drago from Rocky 4.

The interview wrapped up with his feelings on No More Heroes 3, saying that the project is finally coming to a close and that it would be good to put Travis to rest after the release. He further said that once this game is done, fans can start looking forward to exploring new IPs the team have in the works too.

No More Heroes 3 launches August 27 for the Nintendo Switch.
