Taking the No More Heroes title and ramping up the number of boss fights, the sequel gives players more hurdles to overcome and more fun doing it. Ranging from early fights that are meant for training all the way down to great challenges that will test even the experienced veteran's skills, it will be hard to predict what fight will push players to their limits.

Whether it be by design or scattered placement, the difficulty doesn't follow a sliding scale. Players can go from one boss that falls in a few well-placed combinations to a stamina war that requires advanced techniques to complete. The unpredictability of each fight is what makes the path to victory enjoyable, keeping players on their toes at every turn.

15 15. Skelter Helter

No More Heroes 2, boss fight

The first boss and one that's ranked 51st by the United Assassins Association, Skelter Helter is looking for revenge for his dead brother. Most players won't even remember killing his brother because it happened in the beginning cutscenes of No More Heroes before the game even starts.

Luckily, they didn't use all that vengeful anger for a harder fight, only leading into the tutorial for players to practice the Beam Katana and sharpen their skills.

14 14. Charlie Macdonald

No More Heroes 2, Boss Fight

When players first approach this boss fight it will seem intimidating, a giant football player with a squad of assassin cheerleaders. The fact that the entire fight takes place in Giant mech suits is the equalizer, making this fight one of the easiest.

The worst thing about this battle is getting to it, having to fight off large thugs in enclosed rooms. The battle itself has very straightforward mechanics and the only thing stopping it from being a blowout is the new controls that players have to learn.

13 13. Margaret Moonlight

Margaret Moonlight No More Heroes 2

Even though the creepy vision of Margaret is startling enough, her brandishing a combination of a scythe and sniper, as soon as players know what to look out for the fight becomes a breeze.

Margaret's shots are powerful but any time Travis gets close she'll do her best to get away with a series of slashing attacks, making her sniper the main weapon. Timing her shots and cornering her will leave her hopeless and of no threat to the player.

12 12. Dr. Letz Shake

No More Heroes 2, boss fight

Dr. Letz Shake's ranking on the United Assassins Association list is deceiving, being in the top 10 doesn't count for much these days apparently. The boss's offense is made up of a laser that can be easily dodged and launching stone tiles sky high, something that can either be avoided or used against it.

Planning ahead and moving to the same tile as the boss lets players attack with abandon, the assassin being practically defenseless from short range.

11 11. Nathan Copeland

No More Heroes 2 Nathan Copeland

The master of gadgets, this fight sees a luxury suite turned into an all-out weapon. Though all of these annoying tricks are easy to figure out, keeping Travis backed up is an important lesson to learn.

Avoiding most of the damage is as simple as staying away from the center of the room, hacking away at Copeland's health every time he gets close.

10 10. Cloe Walsh

No More Heroes 2, Boss Fight

While her attack patterns are a little more complicated, Cloe Walsh's health is the main weak point here. She can't take too much of a hit so doling out as much damage as possible when given the chance is an easy win.

From spewing her acid breath across the room to sending out dark coils that stun players at a single touch, knowing where she's located at all times is key. The closer Travis can stay to her and land big hits, the easier the fight becomes.

9 9. Captain Vladimir

No More Heroes 2, CV

For a Russian spaceman, Vladimir sure leaves something to be desired with his attacks. Though he does have an impressive forcefield that blocks any attack from the front, pushing players to circle the enemy to get a good shot at his back.

Easily avoided lasers and slow boulders that float before being thrown, Vladimir doesn't offer too much to worry about. The only attack that might present some challenge is his satellite beams that start acting a little wild when Vlad's health is low.

8 8. The Million Gunman

no more heroes 2 million gunman

While it isn't the most varied attack, Million Gunman sure is a pain to get ahold of. Combining puzzles with a boss fight will test anyone's patience, especially when he's shouting and firing off a golden gun along the way.

He'll move through the map using secret tunnels, leaving the player to constantly keep track just to deal damage. His never-ending change of levels leaves only a few opportunities to finish the fight, take them when possible.

7 7. New Destroyman

No More heroes 2, New destroyman

A face that players will recognize if they've played the original, this time it's a 2 on 1 fight. Splitting up and covering both ground and air, Travis will have to attack while avoiding the paralyzing lasers that come from above.

Focusing on the ground half first is the best strategy as he has the weakest defense, making sure to dodge until he's taken care of. As soon as one drops, the other will try and run to his defense. Keep them at bay or the player will be caught in a loop of having to take them out over and over again.

6 6. Alice Twilight

No More Heroes 2, laser fight

One of the best designs and second to last fight in the game, Alice is one of a kind. Her energy projectiles can be hard to manage considering she has six of them, interrupting her relentless attacks is the easiest way to make it through.

As soon as Alice exits her six-armed contraption, players have to crowd her and unleash combos, giving her no room to breathe. She's agile enough but at this stage of the game, players should have more than enough experience to take her out.

5 5. Kimmy Howell

No More Heroes 2, boss fight

An optional boss and Travis's biggest fan, Kimmy is someone who shouldn't really be on the protagonist's radar but manages to make it more annoying than some of the high-ranking assassins on the list.

Kimmy will blow defensive bubbles that limit space and makes approaching her awkward, causing her hit-and-run attacks to be harder to avoid. Her special swings are impenetrable and have to be dodged, putting up a tough fight for an unranked enemy.

4 4. Mimmy

Boss fight, Mimmy, cut scene

This time players will be using Henry to fight Mimmy, a surprisingly tough challenge. There isn't even a map to track position, throwing the fight into chaos. Keeping away from her front end will serve the player well, avoiding the all-out attack that she executes whenever something passes too close.

Mimmy's slam attack leaves her open for a counter combo but getting in and out is very important, she quickly starts spinning and can cause some serious damage to anyone in her way.

3 3. Ryuji

Ryuji Boss Fight

The worst part about fighting Ryuji isn't the actual battle but the motorcycle event beforehand, requiring players to knock him over the side of a cliff on their bike. It can be frustrating to get used to the controls and take the losses in the process, especially when the real fight waits at the finish line.

Ryuji's offense is nothing to be messed with, forcing the player to interrupt or dodge almost every attack he throws. The strength of his normal attack are impressive, meaning his ultimate attack should be avoided at all costs.

2 2. Matt Helms

No More heroes 2, Boss fight

Boasting a psychotic appearance that can be enough to throw players off their game, Matt Helms is a tank with a big hammer. He's slow as a snail but if his attacks hit they seriously injure Travis.  If his flaming axe that launches fire isn't enough, he also has ranged attack options that come out of nowhere.

Luckily he's wide open for attacks, his giant frame isn't exactly hard to hit and the big health bar is just waiting to be whittled down. His ranged Molotov cocktails are the only answer he has to distance fighting, making him predictable once the player is out of range.

1 1. Jasper Batt Jr.

No More Heroes 2, Boss fight

Being the final boss of the game, it's no surprise that Jasper Batt Jr. is also the toughest enemy to take down. The first stage isn't too difficult, players just have to dodge his minion's attacks and attack his flying office chair.

Stage 2 is the hardest stage in the game, offering up one-shot KOs if the player isn't extremely careful. In this form Jasper will be throwing triple punches that throw Travis off guard, something players can't afford at this stage. It's a slow grind and safety is the number one concern, safe counters only for this run.
