Things have been bumpy for No Man's Sky since its release in late 2016, which may be putting it lightly. The game has received a few updates since launch that have started to smooth those bumps out and it looks like more could be on the horizon.

It now seems as if No Man's Sky may possibly be getting another update. According to a ResetEra forum post, an altered reality game, or ARG for short, has been released for the title. This ARG, titled Waking Titan, has been used in the past by the developers to tease players with new content or patches that were in the works. Many are now speculating that the use of the ARG means more content may be on the way for the game.

As of right now, there has been no word from developer Hello Games either confirming or denying the speculation and rumors regarding new content coming. In the past, the developer has livestreamed the ARG to further tease players with possible content. For now, it seems fans of the game will just have to remain patient until an official announcement is made, or not made, by Hello Games.

No Man's Sky ARG update new content August

The last piece of content No Man's Sky received was the hefty Atlas Rises content update, which came out the summer of 2017. This update added more features players had been clamoring for, including the introduction of a true multiplayer component. It also added more than 30 hours of story content, as well. On top of that, the update tweaked and expanded on some of the game's core features that players felt were lacking. A patch for the update was released a few months later which introduced a revamped save system.

Without a doubt, No Man's Sky's biggest issue since it came out has been fan backlash over features that were hyped up by the developers to be in the game that either weren't present at launch or if they were there, ended up not being as advertised. This ended up rubbing players the wrong way, especially ones that picked up the title at launch or shortly after. As previously mentioned, the developer has since tried to make amends by releasing patches and updates to appease players and add more content to the game.

Despite its issues, No Man's Sky has garnered somewhat of a loyal fan base that has stuck with the game through thick and thin. So, waiting on an announcement for fresh content shouldn't be an issue for diehard players of the game.

No Man's Sky is now available for PC and PS4.
