Although No Man's Sky is considered to be a mildly successful game now, the action-adventure survival game received a great deal of backlash at its launch, and even though its most recent updates have been extremely well-received, Hello Games has only caught a glimpse of what its most famous game could have been.

After a relatively rocky start, Hello Games has been working tirelessly to update and improve its most beloved game, No Man's Sky. Listening to player feedback and angry tweets, the British developer released the NEXT update in late July, transforming the underwhelming game into what players initially wanted at its launch nearly two years earlier.

Although it is still not exactly what players expected it to be, No Man's Sky is much-improved and Hello Games is continuing to update and patch its game, and its most recent update, players have been given the ability to craft and drive the newest form of transportation, motorbikes.

To obtain a 'Pilgrim', players must first purchase the 'Geobay for the Pilgrim' from the Blueprint Analyzer. After crafting it, players can also color-customize individual vehicle parts; decals, adjustable boost flame hues, and adjustable handling technologies are also available for customization. Once players have completed the coinciding missions, upgrades for the Pilgrim and all exocraft will be available for purchase from the Exocraft Technician.

In addition to the new exocraft, Hello Games states in its patch notes that multiplayer racing has been fixed, inventory sizes have been increased, and summoning is now easier. Players will be thrilled to know that now geobays only need to be built once. No matter what planet a player may be on, as long as they have constructed an Exocraft Summoning Station on that planet, all exocraft can be summoned with unlimited range.

Closing in on nearly three years since the launch of No Man's Sky, it is encouraging that the British indie developer still listens to player feedback and continues to make improvements. Even though the NEXT update was essentially a redemption apology to fans, Hello Games has put all of its focus into making No Man's Sky into what it hoped it would initially be.

Despite all of the negative feedback No Man's Sky has received over the years, it truly is a remarkable game, and it is only getting better. Placing an emphasis on space exploration is a hard feat to pull off in a video game, but No Man's Sky does it well, and no other game can claim that its created world would take 5 billion years to fully explore.
