In collaboration with BioWare and Electronic Arts following the release of Mass Effect: Legendary EditionNo Man's Sky has added Commander Shepard's SSV Normandy SR-1 as a reward for completing the newest Expedition. However, it's only available for a limited time, so players hoping to get their hands on the Alliance's ship should act fast.

Just one week ago, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition released, bringing the space opera series together in a collective remastered experience. Both new gamers and veterans to the series have been reliving the action and heartbreak over the last several days after Legendary Edition became one of the most anticipated games of 2021. Players assume the role of Commander Shepard, who commands the stealth frigate SSV Normandy SR-1 throughout the trilogy in their epic quest to save the universe from the Reapers.

Expeditions are No Man's Sky's version of seasons or battle passes, made of up milestones and challenges that each offer a unique reward upon completion, but they're only available for two weeks each. After launching the first Expedition back in April, No Man's Sky started Expedition Two a few days ago, allowing players to get their hands on the Normandy, which operates as a fully functional frigate in the player's fleet once obtained. Players have until May 31 to get the Normandy in No Man's Sky.

To get the Normandy in No Man's Sky, players have to complete the Beachhead Expedition, which consists of five phases. Each phase also has its own tasks and rewards. Each step can be completed by following the objectives shown in the Expedition tab. By simply completing each task listed in each phase, the steps are straightforward. Players estimate about five hours of playtime to complete all the listed objectives, such as reaching rendezvous points, repairing ships, and deploying beacons.

The hardest part of the mission was phase five, which featured an encrypted message that needed to be solved by the No Man's Sky community. Prior to this, players weren't aware that the Normandy would be the final mission reward and was something of a surprise for players. After obtaining the Historiographical Dosimeter, it was up to the community to do Dosimeter readings and bring its research level up to 100%, decrypting the messages. Now that it's been completed by players, the phase five tasks should also be straightforward.

After reaching the final rendezvous points listed in phase five and collecting the flux readings for Nada, players will need to acquire the myth beacon, then deploy it to get the Normandy to warp in.

No Man's Sky is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
