One of gaming’s long awaited and unanswered questions regarding Toad and if the mushroom on top of his head is a hat or his actual head has been answered. Players should be pleased to know that it is confirmed to actually be his head!

Yoshiaki Koizumi, the producer of Super Mario Odyssey, took to a video on Twitter to answer some burning questions about his game. One of these questions regarded Toad and his infamous mushroom topper. Players have often questioned if this was a hat or was a part of him and it has always seemed to go back and forth between the two. But, Koizumi confirms that it is indeed a part of his head.

Can’t believe it? Check out the Tweet along with the video here:

Koizumi says in the video that he wants to “leave it up to [fans] to figure out how that works.” Koizumi poses the question of “maybe there is something inside,” leaving players able to speculate some more about what is really going on in Toad’s head.

This video also poses the question of, “What happened to Mario’s bellybutton?” Koizumi seemed surprised by the question, as he “never really expect [it] to be a topic among fans.” He even mentioned “revisit[ing] the topic on the design side.” Nintendo and its creators really seem to have the player’s interest at heart, even if it is about something small or something they never intended to be a topic.

Players could assume this video answering some questions about Super Mario Odyssey comes after the great success of the game and even becoming one of Amazon’s top three best selling games of 2017. Players seem to be really enjoying the game, even after its release this past year and Nintendo shows no signs of stopping with Super Mario Odyssey.

Nintendo announced earlier this year a free update to Super Mario Odyssey that included a new game mode that features Mario’s brother, Luigi. This new mode will feature a balloon hiding contest, seeing who can place their balloons in the sneakiest place.

Players seem to be having fun with this game mode and Super Mario Odyssey seems to show no signs of slowing its growth and fanbase.

Super Mario Odyssey is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
