A new game has been released for the Nintendo Switch in which players are encouraged to use a common bathroom item to reach the goal. The Nintendo Switch has seen a fair share of innovative uses for the Joy-Con controllers over its six years on the market.

Ever since the Nintendo Switch was announced, accessibility was the main focus, as players could take their consoles anywhere. Early adverts for the device depicted folks carrying on playing, even if they wanted a bathroom break. The detachable Joy-Con comes with unique features like HD rumble, which developers have been working into their games to produce some memorable interactions with players. This latest game by Takahiro Miyazawa takes things one step further.

Give me toilet paper! is a simple puzzle game in which players have to pass a roll of toilet paper to a man in need so he can continue with his day. Utilizing the motion sensors in the left Joy-Con, gamers guide the bathroom tissue from the roof down to the waiting man, making sure to avoid obstacles such as spikes and trap doors along the way. The description of the game states that players must insert the controller in the center of a roll of paper and place it on a flat surface because the Joy-Con needs to fully rotate to register movement.

With a distinctive control method requiring the use of one of the Joy-Con, gamers won’t be too shocked to learn that the Nintendo e-Shop listing for Give me toilet paper! confirms that the game cannot be played in handheld mode or with the Switch Lite. The $5 indie game isn’t the only recent example of Nintendo’s detachable controller being used in a unique way, with one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan utilizing Joy-Con drift to evolve their squad.

After over half a decade on sale, fans still find practical, real-world applications for the Joy-Con. One person even uses their Joy-Con as a remote control to take photos. The method involves syncing one of the controllers with a cellphone via Bluetooth to snap group pictures without holding the phone or asking a passerby to help.

It might not be GOTY material, but the release of Give me toilet paper! features in a stacked month of games for the Nintendo Switch. The physical edition of Metroid Prime Remastered was released at the beginning of the month, and PlatinumGame’s Bayonetta prequel Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is scheduled to hit shelves on March 17.

Give me toilet paper! is out now for Nintendo Switch.
