Nintendo announced Nintendo Switch Sports will be back online soon along with plans to compensate players for the latest update trouble. The update was meant to prevent cheating from online game matches, but instead introduced a troublesome and overall frustrating gaming experience full of bugs and errors. Nintendo has since implemented temporary, albeit equally frustrating solutions since then.

Ever since the release of the Nintendo Switch Sports update Ver.1.2.1, players have encountered a major error during the pre-match loading screens, with the glitch closing the game out completely without warning. Nintendo responded to the error reports by opening an investigation into the update, which also unfortunately required the disabling of online play and save data backups. Luckily these temporary gameplay inconveniences will last only a little while longer since players now have an announced solution to look forward to.

Now, Nintendo Switch Sports players can breathe a sigh of relief. In a recent blog by Nintendo Japan, the company announced its plans to restore online functionality in two update releases this week. The next update, Ver. 1.2.2, is expected to be released on October 18 and will restore a smoother online experience. The second update, Ver.1.2.3, is set to be released on October 20, though Nintendo has stated that the date is not set in stone. The company also mentioned that players might have to wait to play the game online after both updates are downloaded.

The update patch is not the only thing players have to look forward to. Nintendo also detailed its plan to heavily compensate players for all the trouble the bugged update caused. One of the Nintendo Switch Sports rewards includes receiving double the amount of in-game points for playing online, starting from October 18 to November 3. Also, to make up for lost time, Nintendo will allow players a chance to get the weekly items that they might have missed during the downtime.

The good news for Nintendo Switch Sports players is that Nintendo is more than ready to respond to the problem and deliver a better gaming experience. The bad news is that it is going to take a bit longer to completely solve the frustrating error. Though, once all fixes are implemented, fans not only have the gameplay reward compensation to look forward to, but also the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports golf update. With Nintendo’s announcement, hopefully, now it will be nothing but smooth sailing for players of the game.
