Now that summer is just around the corner, Nintendo is planning to go on a road trip all across the United States, bringing with it a selection of Switch games for fans to enjoy. The Japanese video game giant revealed that the Nintendo Switch US Road Trip Tour will commence on June 26, and will last through October 6.

Although the Nintendo Switch has multiple upcoming games that are going to be released this year, most of the games that will be showcased during the tour will be comprised of recently released Switch games. However, Nintendo will include the upcoming Switch game, Super Mario Maker 2, which will release just before the tour begins. The game will serve as a sequel to the Wii U's Super Mario Maker and will feature an online multiplayer mode.

Nintendo revealed that the Switch Road Trip tour is designed with "kids and families in mind," and will showcase 8 games for attendees to try out. Listed below are the full games that will be available on the tour:

  • Super Mario Maker 2
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu!
  • Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee!
  • Overcooked! 2
  • Super Mario Party
  • Splatoon 2

Although the road trip tour will not showcase any unreleased games at the time of the event, Nintendo has several titles in its arsenal that will be heading to the hybrid console soon. Most recently, The Pokemon Company announced that it will be releasing a Detective Pikachu game on the Nintendo Switch. However, the company did not reveal whether the upcoming title will be a Switch port of the original DS game, or if it will pick serve as a sequel to the 2016 game.
