After somewhat of a hiatus, news on a rumored Nintendo Switch console revision absolutely exploded last week, with reports, supposed leaks, and more cropping up all around the internet. Rumors last week kicked off on Wednesday with a new Bloomberg report and tweets from insider Emily Rogers, which both said that the supposed Switch Pro would see a reveal much sooner than fans thought, most likely even before E3.

From there, rumors began to spread about a reveal happening within the next day or two, however, nothing came to fruition. Additionally, an Amazon Mexico listing for the "New Nintendo Switch Pro" appeared shortly after, quickly throwing fans into disarray. But now that rumors have died down a bit, one insider has come out with a supposed reveal date for the new Nintendo Switch console.

Over on Twitter, credible games insider and co-founder of XboxEra Shpeshal_Nick tweeted about what they've personally heard about a Switch Pro reveal. At the moment, it seems that some sort of Nintendo Direct mini or announcement for the console revision is set to release this Thursday, however, Shpeshal_Nick stresses that the reveal could of course always be pushed to after that date as has happened in the past.

While Nintendo has gotten in the habit recently of shadow-dropping big announcements and reveals for things like the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct and games like Paper Mario: The Origami King and Pikmin 3 Deluxe, it's possible that a Direct announcement for Thursday could be seen very soon, as the company tends to announce such presentations a day or two in advance. For now, while still hopeful, fans have expressed their caution in believing such rumors given last week's unrealized hype. It almost seems that at any moment now, fans could wake up to the reveal of a new Nintendo Switch console.

Apart from rumors of an imminent reveal last week, Bloomberg's newest report claimed that the supposed Switch Pro would be priced higher than the standard Switch's $299 price point, eventually phasing out that iteration of the system over time, making the new console exist alongside the budget Switch Lite. Rumors also claimed that production would be ramping up this summer, with Emily Rogers claiming a targeted September or October release.

Regardless of whether a Nintendo Switch console revision even exists, fans have taken to the internet to debate over what the new Switch system will be named, ranging from the New Nintendo Switch to the Super Nintendo Switch. At any rate, most insiders seem to agree that the console will be revealed soon, so fans should certainly keep their eyes peeled in the coming weeks.

The Nintendo Switch Pro is rumored to be in development.
