Fans who have been eagerly anticipating an improved model of the Nintendo Switch system were instead, in the meantime, treated to the Nintendo Switch Lite. But while the Switch Lite comes in assorted colors, discounts the regular model's cost, and offers portable exclusivity, the system lacks what an upgraded model may achieve in graphics or display functionality.

Rumors of Nintendo's next Switch iteration, however, have been circulating since before the Switch Lite was announced. Each rumor has solicited a title for the upgraded Nintendo Switch model that mirrors and mimics that of previous Nintendo products, such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System subsequent to the old-fashioned Nintendo Entertainment System with a one-word addition to the console's brand and marketing.

Humorously, a fan has recently taken to Reddit to share their unofficial logo, which features a collaged hodgepodge of previously used Nintendo system titles. The fan's image is purposely satirical as, embedded within the image, the legitimate Nintendo Switch title sits near the center and the Joy-Con logo sits to the side. But within the image the fan has cast multiple deep-cuts of Nintendo consoles and games as an attempt to demonstrate how much commotion and conversation has been stirred up as a tired result of rumors online.

Cropped edits of specific video game titles appear in the logo referencing Sonic games, the word "deluxe" from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or the end of the subtitle from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Interestingly, the logo for the Xbox Series X has somehow also made its way into the fan's fold of potential names, perhaps speaking as a commentary on the general absurdity that is guessing what the new system model will be named after having heard teases of an upgraded Nintendo Switch for so long.

Nintendo's generational console additions have neatly followed a trend of bold system names for marketing purposes, and therefore titles such as "New" or "Super" are fair guesses until the rumored system is ultimately announced. Likewise, a prominent estimate from fans has been that the rumored console will be dubbed the "Switch Pro," which is likely an adaptation from the Nintendo Switch's Pro Controller. With a third Nintendo Switch model proposed, it is possible that fans have much to be excited about.

But rather than what the system may indeed be named, the games that may launch with it are also exciting to consider. The Nintendo Switch launched alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and an announcement of the game's sequel launching alongside an upgraded Switch model may excite fans more than any rumored title the console may have.
