Nintendo has released a new update for its Nintendo Switch Online service that adds three more games for Expansion Pack subscribers to check out. Nintendo Switch Online is Nintendo's equivalent of PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. By paying a fee, Nintendo Switch gamers are able to use Switch Online to play multiplayer games online as well as play a collection of retro games.

Initially, the Nintendo Switch Online service only offered NES and Super Nintendo games, but the service has since expanded considerably. This is especially true for those signed up for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack tier, which bundles all the benefits of the base Switch Online service with other bonuses like free DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and access to games from the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance libraries.

Nintendo is regularly updating Nintendo Switch Online and its Expansion Pack to include new games, so the service only grows in value over time. The latest update for the Nintendo Switch Online service is live now, and it gives subscribers to the Expansion Pack tier access to Super Mario Advance, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, all three of which were originally Game Boy Advance games.

New Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Games

  • Super Mario Advance
  • Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
  • Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Super Mario Advance is a remade version of Super Mario Bros. 2 from the NES featuring various enhancements and the Mario Bros. arcade game bundled in. Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, meanwhile, is a Game Boy Advance port of Super Mario World. As one might have guessed, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 is a Game Boy Advance port of that classic SNES game as well.

Some Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers may be underwhelmed with these offerings. After all, all three of these games are technically already available on the service in different forms. Switch Online subscribers can play the original versions of all three games through their subscription already, though they will miss out on some of the bells and whistles added with the Game Boy Advance ports.

Luckily, there's plenty more for Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers to look forward to in the near future with games like Pokemon Stadium 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons on deck along with a variety of other titles.
