Every few months, Nintendo announces new NES and SNES games for its Nintendo Switch Online service. It just recently announced the additions for February.

As part of their Nintendo Switch Online service, Nintendo gives subscribers access to a number of NES and SNES games they can play via an emulator on the system. This includes classics like Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble and Super Mario Bros 3, as well as lesser known titles like Nightshade and Wild Guns.

This month, the US and Europe are getting Fire 'n Ice for the NES as well as Doomsday Warrior, Prehistorik Man, and Psycho Dream for the SNES.

Nintendo Switch Online in Japan is getting Psycho Dream as well. But they're also getting Mario’s PicrossSolomon’s Key 2, and the classic RPG Shin Megami Tensei 2.

Many of the these titles aren't as well known or as popular as some other classic games. So their release this month is a great way to try out old games fans probably haven't played before. Even if they're not as beloved as more well known Nintendo titles, they still provide an interesting window into a unique era of game design.

On the other hand, there's a reason obscure games stay obscure. The NES and SNES had some of the greatest games of all time, like Chrono Trigger or Super Mario RPG. Even Shin Megami Tensei 2 would be amazing to see get an official release in the West. Hopefully, Nintendo releases some of these classic games soon.

Over 90 NES and SNES are available now for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online.
