One of the main selling points of the Nintendo Switch Online service is the ability to play a selection of classic NES and Super Nintendo games. For years, rumors have persisted that Nintendo would be expanding the Nintendo Switch Online service with Nintendo 64 titles as well. And now Nintendo has officially confirmed those plans. A more expensive Nintendo Switch Online subscription is coming in late October, and it's bringing with it some of the best Nintendo 64 games ever made.

When the service launches in October, it will include nine Nintendo 64 games for players to check out, complete with online multiplayer support and other perks. Here are the nine Nintendo 64 games coming to Nintendo Switch Online in October.

Needless to say, this is quite the lineup of Nintendo 64 titles, but it's worth pointing out that these aren't the only Nintendo 64 games coming to Switch Online. Nintendo confirmed that it will add other Nintendo 64 games to the service at later dates, specifically naming The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Mario Golf, Pokemon Snap, F-Zero X, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Paper Mario, and even the Xbox-owned Banjo-Kazooie.

Nintendo Switch gamers will have the option of checking out these classic games using their Switch Joy-Cons and Pro Controllers, but they can also play them with a special Nintendo 64 Switch controller that will be sold to Switch Online subscribers for $49.99. Presumably, this Switch Nintendo 64 controller was the new controller that leaked online recently. More release information for it should come to light shortly.

Speaking of controllers, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will also be able to purchase a special Sega Genesis controller for their console to go with the newly announced Sega Genesis games. Not only are classic Nintendo 64 games coming to Switch Online as part of the Expansion Pack, but Genesis titles are making their way to the service as well. While pricing information on the Switch Online Expansion Pack has yet to be revealed, it definitely seems to be giving subscribers their money's worth.
