Nintendo has confirmed nine more Nintendo 64 games for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion, including some of the classic console's best games. These Nintendo 64 games will be added to the Switch Online Expansion Pack lineup throughout 2022 and 2023.

In 2022, Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers can look forward to the addition of Pilotwings 64, Mario Party, and Mario Party 2. In 2023, fans can look forward to the addition of other heavy hitters like Excitebike 64, Mario Party 3, Pilotwings 64, Pokemon Stadium, and Pokemon Stadium 2. And it's also been confirmed that classic first-person shooter GoldenEye 007 is also coming to the Switch Online Expansion Pack, though it's without a release window at the time of this writing.

Not only is GoldenEye 007 coming to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, but a version of the game is also coming to Xbox Game Pass. It was announced that GoldenEye 007 on Xbox Game Pass will have some extra enhancements, like achievement support and 4k resolution, but the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack version of the classic FPS has one major advantage that fans should keep in mind.

New Nintendo 64 Games Coming to Switch Online

  • 1080 Snowboarding
  • Excitebike 64
  • GoldenEye 007
  • Pilotwings 64
  • Mario Party
  • Mario Party 2
  • Mario Party 3
  • Pokemon Stadium
  • Pokemon Stadium 2

Based on what's been revealed so far, GoldenEye 007 on Xbox Game Pass will not have online multiplayer support. However, GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack does allow for online multiplayer. Of course, Switch Online multiplayer doesn't include matchmaking, so it's still perhaps not quite what fans may have wanted from the re-release, but this way those interested can organize online matches with their friends at least.

Online functionality should be present with the other Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack games that have multiplayer, which is pretty much all of them except for Pilotwings 64. The Nintendo 64 was a console built with multiplayer and party games in mind, so it's great to see online support added to the games, even if there's no matchmaking system to take the N64 online multiplayer experience to the next level.

There are only four months or so left of 2022, so fans should be learning more about when they will get to play games like Mario Party, Mario Party 2, and Pilotwings 64. Nintendo has traditionally spread out its new Switch Online Expansion Pack games by releasing one per month, so it seems likely that one will be added in October, another in November, and another in December, but that's just a guess. Fans will need to wait for more official information before they'll know for sure when they can revisit these classic titles.
