Although Nintendo isn't known for its crazy sales, the racing adventure game Defunct is currently marked down on the Nintendo eShop for less than a quarter.

Defunct is an indie adventure game that released on the Switch in September of 2018. Players control a worker robot that zips around on a singular wheel. The hero accidentally falls down the garbage dump and must find its way back home while racing through foreign terrain and navigating around tricky platforms.

The racer has unique gravitational abilities via the Gravitize engine, allowing him to cling to walls and putting an interesting spin on exploration. Surprisingly, the game also has some small open-world elements, allowing players to traverse through this post-apocalyptic universe.

And now, for any players that weren't already convinced to try out this exhilarating game, Defunct is available on the Nintendo eShop for $0.24, just two dimes and four pennies. For those who don't currently own a Switch or would rather play on a PC, the game is also marked down on Steam 90% for just $0.99. Out of over 400 reviews on Steam, it garnered "Very Positive" reviews

This indie adventure game won a couple of awards back in 2014 when it was released in Sweden, which is where it was developed by Freshly Squeezed. Defunct earned Game of the Year for the Swedish Game Awards as well as Best 2nd Year Game at the Gotland Game Conference.

Some players compare Defunct to Sonic the Hedgehogcalling it a one-man racing game. While for many, Sonic was about seeing how fast they could finish the stages, others stopped to smell the roses and experience the expert craftsmanship that went into the design. The same can be said about Defunct.

For those looking to scrounge more deals for their Switch alongside Defunct, navigate to the Great Deals tab in the Nintendo eShop for other "Cool Small Games" for less than a dollar: Perseverance, a horror drama with an 8/10 Steam rating; Fobia, a difficult puzzle platformer about fear for $0.99; and Watermelon Party, a multi-player action puzzle game on sale for only 3 cents.

While it's no The Last of Us 2, for players looking for their next addictive adventure title, there's no excuse not to give Defunct a whirl at such a low price.

Defunct is available on PS4, Switch, Windows, and Xbox One.
