With E3 just around the corner, retailers, industry insiders, and influencers have become hungry for any possible rumors and leaks to get excited about ahead of the annual trade show next week. If a recent listing from retail chain GameStop has anything to say, it's that Nintendo plans to pull back the curtain on a ton of new projects coming to the Nintendo Switch by the time the convention gets underway.

A database listing from GameStop currently shows over 20 placeholder SKUs for untitled games ending in the acronym "NSW" (likely referring to Nintendo Switch), which will likely be revealed during E3 next week. There's a good chance either the traditional Nintendo Direct video package or the company's live Treehouse event, which streams during the convention, will be when new games are announced. While the official date for E3 runs from June 11th through the 13th, Nintendo's E3 Direct goes live on a day prior on Monday, June 10th.

Upon taking a closer look, the pricing for some games could lead to speculation on what kind of announcements may show up during E3. One SKU listed for $199.99 looks to be in the form of a collector's edition, as Nintendo has confirmed no new hardware variations of the Switch will be shown next week. Other titles listed at the much lower price of $39.99 might lead some to believe a remasters or trilogy bundles could be on the horizon. One game in particular, given Activision's push to bring Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to Switch last year, could be reason enough for the publisher will bring 2018's Spyro Reignited Trilogy over to the console as well.

While all of these games have been masked by the retailer's database, Nintendo has promised a ton of new announcements and details of upcoming Switch titles, and will likely correlate with a number of the aforementioned placeholder SKUs. There's a good chance of more details about Pokémon Sword and Shield, likely a release date, coming to E3. Plus, with Nintendo announcing a new Animal Crossing for Switch earlier in the year, next week is as good a time as any to show more to fans.

While Nintendo is gearing up to show a ton of new games, one that won't appear at E3 is Metroid Prime 4. Since it was revealed development was restarted by Retro Studios earlier this year, there probably hasn't been enough time for the team to flesh out a proper gameplay demo. In its absence however, fans will surely clamor to hopes of a Metroid Prime Trilogy reveal for Nintendo Switch in the future.
