It feels like it's been a long time since Nintendo announced that 2019 would bring a feature length mainline Pokemon game to the Nintendo Switch, but fans of the franchise may finally be about to get a major update. Now that the success of Pokemon Let's Go has died down, Nintendo seems to be ready to talk about the next Pokemon adventure in tomorrow's Nintendo Direct.

The upcoming Direct was just announced and is scheduled for February 27 at 6am PT. Before fans get too excited, we should mention that Nintendo also confirmed the event will only feature roughly seven minutes of new information. Now, seven minutes may not sound like much, but for a game that we know next to nothing about, that is tons of time to get into some exciting reveal details.

It seems a little strange that Nintendo is airing this Direct so soon after its last, but this is sort of the beauty of not relying on major events like E3 to drop big announcements. Nintendo is able to make their own schedule and generate all the hype they need with a simple tweet the day before the presentation.

Fans of the franchise should definitely plan to tune in to the stream tomorrow morning to watch the direct and find out the first details about the upcoming installment in the main series. Nintendo didn't directly say that the presentation is 100% about the upcoming Switch game, so there's a good chance some Pokemon GO and other series news will also be included. If the presentation somehow doesn't put the upcoming game front and center though, it's possible the fans will become very unhappy.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a full report on everything we learn during the Pokemon Direct. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

The upcoming Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch does not currently have a release date.
