Nintendo has yet to confirm a Direct presentation this month, but for many fans, it might as well be set in stone. Nintendo has hosted a Direct every September for the past six years, and skipping once now makes little sense. There are still quite a few third-party games fans want to see showcased, while very little of Nintendo's plans for 2023 are known.

Accompanying this is a handful of expectations thanks to recent rumors. Insider Jeff Grubb, for example, has heard that it will take place during the week of September 12. He's also heard that the show is set up to be a big Direct, describing it as a "Zelda blowout" and not like a simple third-party direct. This is no doubt exciting for fans, but there's also likely more to be there than just Zelda, even if it does potentially include Breath of the Wild 2 news. In fact, recent rumors suggest at least four ports will be announced, two of which are not related to Zelda.

Switch Ports to Be Announced at Nintendo Direct

These rumored games are as follows:

  • Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Zelda: Wind Waker
  • Skyrim: Anniversary Edition
  • It Takes Two

The first two are mentioned by name by Grubb, so anything beyond these two is pure speculation. Two ports hardly define a "Zelda blowout," however, and so fans will likely get more than these two as well, if these rumors are legit. There's no reason to doubt Grubb, who has been right numerous times in the past, but still it's worth remembering to take everything here with a grain of salt. The other two games, for example, do not come from Grubb but other potential leaks.

It Takes Two's Switch port was recently leaked by The Snitch, who has a pretty solid reputation if not as reliable as Grubb. Notably, Snitch accurately leaked Hollow Knight: Silksong on Game Pass, Kojima's Overdose project, The Last of Us Part 1's release date, and more. This seems more than reliable enough, and it should cautiously excite fans of the co-op game.

Skyrim: Anniversary Edition is rumored because it was recently rated for the Switch in Europe, with no accompanying fanfare or announcement. Because of this (and earlier ratings on the Switch in countries like Taiwan), many believe it'll be announced at the next Nintendo Direct.

All in all, it's hard to say for sure if any of these Nintendo Switch port rumors will prove accurate, but it stands to reason many fans will be excited if they do. Not to mention, this is just a sampler of what should be a full meal. Combined with other ports, major Switch news, announcements, and so on, the next Nintendo Direct could already be set up for success.

A Nintendo Direct is rumored for September.
