Nintendo Direct Hitting on April Fool’s

By | 2 years ago

After Nintendo confirmed that it was no longer prioritizing a 2015 release for The Legend of Zelda Wii U, gamers anxious to get their hands on the highly anticipated title haven’t had too much known software to look forward to on their Wii U gaming console. It’s because of this revelation that the house of Mario needs to step up and showcase just what else fans have to look forward to later this year, and it’ll be doing just that in a brand new Nintendo Direct.

Set to kick off on April 1, 2015, the newest Direct presentation will show off and deliver updates on a number of upcoming titles for both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. To reassure gamers that it isn’t busting out an April Fool’s prank, Ninty wanted to reassure that the showcase “is no joke!” Of course, this could also play into the contents of the Nintendo Direct.

As for what the Direct itself will feature, it’s not farfetched to assume that Super Smash Bros. fans will finally get a glimpse of the long awaited fighter Mewtwo in action – especially since word is that the downloadable combatant will be arriving “pretty soon.” Meanwhile, an appearance by Splatoon is also a safe bet given the title’s scheduled May release date, and an update on Mario Kart 8‘s second DLC pack is almost a guarantee.

While those seem to be likely bits of the presentation, it’s all open to speculation. Nintendo may have to pull out some big stops in order to appease consumers in the wake of Zelda‘s delay, so it’s not outrageous to assume that the company could show off gameplay of the new Star Fox title that’s set to release later this year. Still, with E3 2015 slowly creeping up, it’s hard to say just how many cards the Kyoto-based game maker will play at this point in time.

Whatever news the Japanese gaming giant has planned for the April 1st Nintendo Direct, you can be sure that Game Rant will be covering it as soon as it drops. With that in mind, stay tuned for more information.
