It's no major secret at this point that the once-dormant Nintendo has managed to grab the gaming world's attention yet again with last year's launch of the Switch, one of the most highly coveted consoles in history. As a matter of fact, the system has been so popular since its release that it managed to help boost software sales for the Big N in a major way, with Amazon's top three best-selling games for 2017 being Switch titles.

When it comes to the highest selling game on Amazon's sales list for 2017, Super Mario Odyssey stands tall in the number one spot, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe cruises into second place. Surprisingly enough, the bronze goes to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as most believed it would have at least sold the most copies out of these three on the retail site due to Nintendo ensuring its availability alongside the Switch's launch back in March of last year.

What's even more interesting is that Amazon's top 10 list for the best-selling games of 2017 is practically dominated by Nintendo titles, save for the inclusion of the PlayStation 4 exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn and Call of Duty: WW2's PS4 and Xbox One versions. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon both appear alongside Splatoon 2 and the Wii U edition of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Those interested can find the ranked Amazon sales list below.

  1. Super Mario Odyssey
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
  4. Horizon Zero Dawn
  5. Call of Duty: WW2 (PS4)
  6. Call of Duty: WW2 (Xbox One)
  7. Splatoon 2
  8. Pokémon Ultra Sun
  9. Pokémon Ultra Moon
  10. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U)

While Nintendo's ability to command practically every spot on Amazon's best-selling list for 2017 definitely indicates a strong demand for the Big N's titles–specifically those on the Switch–it also puts the company in a precarious position. After all, initial hype for Nintendo's newest console has died down somewhat since it hit the market, leaving the publisher and developer with the task of maintaining interest in the system throughout the coming years. Thankfully, though, it looks as if the company has a solid road map laid out when it comes to Switch exclusives, for not only will the likes of Bayonetta 3 be solely available on the platform, but also Metroid Prime 4 and an unnamed Pokemon RPG are on the way, too.

The Nintendo Switch is available now.
