Nintendo World 2011 brought to light some new details about the upcoming 3DS. We received confirmation of the Japanese release date and launch titles of the unit. Now the world will get a glimpse of the official box art of the 3DS thanks to a intrepid NeoGAF reader.

Alongside the box art we also find out what gamers will expect to find in the box when the unit launches this Spring. Check the list of items in the box below.

  • Nintendo 3DS Unit
  • Nintendo 3DS charger stand
  • AC adapter
  • 3DS Stylus
  • 2 GB SD Memory Card
  • Six AR Cards
  • Quick Start Guide
  • Guarantee

The decision to include a charging stand along with the standard AC adapter is an interesting one. All of Nintendo's previous handhelds only came with an adapter and no first party stand. Given what we know now about the rather low 3DS battery life, it's possible Nintendo predicted that gamers will stay close to home with their handhelds, and thus created a quick way for them to charge their units.

Nintendo 3DS Box Art and Games

The box art is nothing spectacular; in fact it looks very similar to the box art of the Wii, with a very simple, clean and modern look to it. Another point of interest are the colors of the units. It seems the 3DS will come in two flavors, metallic blue and black. Nintendo tends to have different SKUs for different regions, and these two could only be available for the Japanese market, with North America and Europe possibly getting different colors.

In this photo, gamers can also see what the cases for the games will look like. Again, Nintendo doesn't stray far from the design of the previous DS game cases.

The 3DS is scheduled for a February 26th release date and an estimated release for North America in April 2011. The launch of this innovative new console is getting closer and we at Game Rant want to know, are you excited and planning on getting a 3DS? Let us know in the comments.
