Nintendo has announced that GungHo Online Entertainment's latest release, Ninjala, will be available to play on Wednesday, June 24th exclusively on the Nintendo Switch with a start time of 7pm PT. It has been in beta testing since April, and is finally ready to spread across the world.

Ninjala is a colorful action-battle royale for up to 8 ninja dressed in their finest, trendiest garb to either face off in 4v4 matches or a full free-for-all battle brawl. The descendants of ninja will get together to fight for their honor, as well as have some fun. Their power comes from three colors of ninja-gum, which is super-powered and allows for super moves such as vanishing (in proper ninja fashion), sticking enemies to walls, and more. Spoiler alert: the secret ingredient is a cat's bell.

When chewed, ninja-gum "allows a ninja to draw out their full potential," at least according to ninja descendant and co-inventor of ninja-gum, Burton. "The ninja and gum become one. In other words, chewing the gum lets you synthesize powerful ninja weapons."

In battle royale games like this where fast reflexes are key, any problems with controls, server lag, or even glitchy animations and hitboxes can frustrate players and take away from the experience. Hopefully no players will be flying across the map.

Players can pre-download the game for free now through the Nintendo eShop and will be available for play on Wednesday. There will be in-game purchases. Keep those eyes peeled for Sonic the Hedgehog as well.

Ninjala will be available June 24th, 2020 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
