Last week, streamer and Fortnite pro Ninja began running his own Fortnite tournament, which is set to last for another five weeks and sees a number of other professional players competing for cash prizes.

Despite the first week being an overall success (although there was some controversy when one of the players made some inappropriate comments), Ninja still isn't impressed with the state that Fortnite is currently in.

Recently, he's criticized the game that propelled him to stardom for several reasons, such as the map introduced in Chapter 2 Season 2, and he has now gone on the record as describing the game as boring to play.

"I don’t want to play Fortnite right now," he said during a stream, "This season -- it’s boring. There’s nothing new. I’m having a little bit of fun, sometimes, but we’ve been playing the same map. The only new places that they’ve added are places with Henchmen that beam you, and laser you, and s**t on your walls. And they keep reviving each other. And they have infinite ammo and broken ass mythic weapons."

He also cites the incredibly long seasons as part of the reason he now finds the game stale, pointing out that the first season was double the usual length, yet didn't offer any extra content.

“It blows my mind that we were forced to play the very first Season 1 for, like, 120 days... Double the length of seasons with half the content. Two seasons have almost taken up a year."

He's not wrong, either. Many other players have complained about how long this year's seasons has lasted. Season 2's conclusion has been delayed a couple of times now, with a Doomsday event intended to finally take place on May 29th before Season 3's start in June.

However, both the event and Season 3 have been delayed again, this time until the middle of June, due to "recent events", most likely referring to the current Black Lives Matter protests.

Season 3 most likely has some big expectations to meet. With so much vocal criticism being lobbied against it, Fortnite may need to make some drastic changes if it hopes to keep people playing.

Fortnite is available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
