As the most popular Twitch streamer, it's no surprise that professional Fortnite player Ninja has started making his mark in the mainstream. Just recently, Ninja made history as being the first gamer on the cover of ESPN Magazine, and now he has been flown out to California to make an appearance on Ellen, the hugely successful daytime talk show hosted by comedian Ellen DeGeneres.

As can be seen in the video, Ellen really doesn't know how to play Fortnite, or really any video game for that matter. By her own admission, Ellen's video game experience is largely limited to Guitar Hero. As a result, she spends most of the match swinging her pickaxe at the ground or cliff walls, and ends up getting sniped well before she can actually do anything of substance.

Ninja, meanwhile, attempts to teach Ellen how to play the game, but his efforts are in vain. At one point in the video, Ninja engages with enemy players and at Ellen's suggestion, tries to make peace with them. He approaches the house they're hiding in and uses the infinite dab emote to show that he means no harm, but is gunned down for his troubles.

During the short time that Ellen played Fortnite with Ninja, she played as Calamity, a new skin that was added to the game as part of its Season 6 update. Ellen remarks that she is the "girl with the breasts and the hat" and the potential sexualization of Calamity is brought up again when the talk show host inadvertently has the camera aimed directly at her butt. No mention is made of the controversial boob physics that Epic accidentally added to the character and then quickly patched out, however.

As Ninja's popularity continues to grow, it's likely that he will start making more mainstream media appearances on talk show hosts and elsewhere. It's clear that professional gaming is become more prominent, and there's no denying that Ninja, Fortnite, and Twitch are a large part of that growth.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
