Over the weekend, Nijisanji's English branch debuted Noctyx, a brand new group of futuristic time-traveling V-Tubers. As Nijisanji EN's 5th wave and 2nd male wave, the group was met with an overwhelming reception. The debut livestream completely shattered the previous debut’s peak viewership and reached #2 trending worldwide on Twitter.

Much of the excitement behind Noctyx comes from the incredible success of Luxiem, Nijisanji EN’s previous male wave. Before Luxiem, English-speaking male V-Tubers were almost non-existent. Since Luxiem’s appearance, the demand for male V-Tubers has exploded, which is why Luxiem’s next iteration, Noctyx, is so highly anticipated.

Noctyx's debut consisted of 5 back to back introduction streams, covered by the official Nijisanji EN YouTube channel. Starting at 6:10 pm PST, each member held a 25-minute introduction stream on their channel. Before the first debut stream had begun, the host stream reached 40,000 live viewers. Continuing to the individual streams, they managed to reach a peak of 66,000 live viewers, more than tripling the previous record. At the same time, Noctyx’s debut managed to trend #2 worldwide on Twitter with the hashtag #Noctyx_VTuberDebut.

First to debut was Sonny Brisko, “an Officer from the future with a straightforward attitude. He’s reliable in a pinch despite being rough around the edges.” Sonny opened his debut with a short animated film of his backstory, voiced entirely by himself. Sonny also showcased his amazing voice acting talent by doing stellar impressions of Emiya Kiritsugu and Joseph Joestar. Next to debut was Uki Violeta, “a Psychic from the future with enigmatic powers. Though he appears somewhat shy, strange things follow wherever he goes.” For Uki’s debut, he stunned the viewers by dropping an original music video covering his backstory.

The third member to debut was Alban Knox, “a Phantom Thief from the future with exceptional stealth. He’s a free yet mischievous spirit who is hard to pin down.” Alban’s debut began with an incredibly emotional clip of his backstory, but quickly changed tones when he began introducing himself. Alban’s enthusiastic nature came to the surface as he showed off his casual outfit, nicknamed ‘Konbini-kun’ after its resemblance to a convenience store uniform. Fourth to debut was Fulgur Ovid, “a Cyborg from the future with unparalleled strength. His body is partly cold steel, and who’s to say if he has a heart.” Fulgur managed to have an incredibly entertaining debut, playing an incredibly over-the-top edgy character. Impressively, Fulgur managed to go the entire 25-minute debut without slipping up or breaking character once. Finally, the last to debut was Yugo Asuma, “a DJ from the future with a deep passion for music. He can put you in a trance with his voice and his beats.” Unfortunately, Yugo experienced technical issues and was unable to debut on the 26th and was postponed to the next day. However, Yugo’s debut was still just as successful as the others and showcased his impressive multilingual talents.

With a total of 10 male V-Tubers, Nijisanji EN nearly has a monopoly on male talent in the English-speaking V-Tuber community. If Noctyx is as successful as Luxiem, then it would be no surprise to see Nijisanji EN push out more male V-Tubers. Given the insane reception to Noctyx's debut, this is a very likely outcome.
