The highly anticipated follow-up to NieR Automata made a strong showing at The Game Awards with the reveal of a brand new gameplay trailer, showing off the upcoming titles flashy new combat. This means that fans have a little more to chew on than just the comically long name, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., which comes as a reference to this new title being a remaster of the original NieR Replicant.

Much of the combat itself should be familiar to players who have played NieR Automata, something that shouldn't come as too much of a surprise considering that NieR Replicant is the popular PS4 title's predecessor. Fans around the world are finally preparing to get their hands on the game, now that it will be leaving its home region with this new remaster.

The trailer itself is only a quick minute-long clip to show what is coming in the remaster, with improved animations and upgraded visuals in NieR Replicant. In the clip, fans can see the protagonist attacking with several different weapons, a staple for both the NieR series and the Drakenguard titles that came before it. Other elements familiar to NieR Automata fans also made a return, such as the bullet-hell inspired red orbs that filled the screen during certain encounters and almost every gameplay and highlight clip from the last big title.

A few things are missing from this short trailer, such as the HUD and any UI inputs or indications on how the game is played. However, considering that the game is a remaster, players can likely assume that they'll be getting a familiar experience to NeiR Automata.

NeiR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is set to release on April 23rd, 2021, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
