Nickelodeon and Ludosity announces its newest game Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl featuring the cartoon channel's most iconic characters as well as some characters the studio pulls from older and lesser-known properties.

The roster of characters for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl pays homage to some of the network's newest shows, such as Lincoln Loud from Loud House, to its older shows, such as Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberries. Younger fans of Nickelodeon cartoons may not know about obscure characters from its older properties, some of which debuted in the 90s and are almost 30 years old, so some fans may not know exactly what series these characters originated from.

Powdered Toast Man from Ren and Stimpy

Fans of Nickelodeon from the early 90s will likely remember Powdered Toast Man from Ren and Stimpy. For everyone else, he seems as random as they come. Powdered Toast Man made his debut when Ren and Stimpy run out of powdered toast, and then comes Powdered Toast Man, originally appearing as a spin-off of breakfast mascot commercials. He has become so popular that he appears in other animated shorts saving people in the goofiest way the animators could think of.

Interestingly enough, Nickelodeon chooses to reveal Powdered Toast Man rather than Ren and Stimpy themselves, leaving fans wondering if the two will make an appearance in the game at all. Since the announcement trailer, the memes have been pouring out over Powdered Toast Man. Those that remember Ren and Stimpy will likely be excited to play as the knock-off super-hero whose powers include providing powdered toast, flying backward, and turning himself into a dust cloud of powder.

Oblina from Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

Another 90s cartoonAaahh!!! Real Monsters is about three monsters attending school in the sewers learning how to scare humans. The series started in 1994 and aired for 4 seasons, and Oblina is one of the main characters from the main cast.

Oblina may be a monster that loves to eat garbage and scare children, yet she has a soft spot for her monster friends. The show may have been about scaring people, yet the lighthearted friendship between the main cast and their antics was the show's selling point. Perhaps some of her abilities from the show, such as removing her organs through her mouth, will be featured in the game. Overall, she has a unique design that stands out against the rest of the colorful cast of characters, an interesting pick for the roster of Nickelodeon's new fighting game.

Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys

Another unexpected contender featured in All-Star Brawl is Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys. The show started in 1998 following the Thornberry family and their wildlife documentary series hosted by none other than Nigel Thornberry himself. The man is certainly knowledgeable about wildlife, being the son of a bourgeois British family and graduating from a prestigious university. However, the man has a clumsy streak in him, which makes him fit in with the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl roster.

Nigel Thornberry is known for his nose of epic proportions, spindly limbs, and most importantly, his iconic voice performed by voice actor Tim Curry. Much of the show revolves around his daughter Eliza and her ability to communicate with animals.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's box art may reveal more characters to come, possibly meaning that more characters will become available through DLC, much like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is releasing in the fall of 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
