Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has now been available for over six months, and while the fighting game didn't take the world by storm it has certainly built a thriving community of Nickelodeon fans. Developers Ludosity and Fair Play Labs have, in turn, promised post-launch content for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl to keep the game's momentum going. That DLC may now be close to ready, as a special Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl event has been announced for May 13.

An official post from the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl development team made on Twitter confirmed the upcoming event. On May 13 at 9:00 AM PT/Noon ET, a special Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl event will be held, in partnership with gaming website IGN. The subject of the event is simple. Expect to hear some "character news" for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, which likely means that new characters could be revealed during the show.

The only other hint from the Twitter post is a short message, reading "Back to the lab again." What appears to be the goal of the message is that the new character or characters planned to be revealed for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be related to a laboratory or science of some kind. Nickelodeon fans can likely think of one or a few characters that fit that description.

While there are no officially confirmed DLC characters confirmed for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl at this point, there are some leaked details related to datamining. Leakers have reported previously that there's evidence Jimmy Neutron could be an upcoming character for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Another character believed to be in development is Donatello of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who would join his currently available brothers Leonardo and Michelangelo.

There's an extended list of leaked potential DLC characters for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl that are seemingly unrelated to "the lab." Those characters include Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton from SpongeBob SquarePants, Tommy Pickles from Rugrats, Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life, Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Danny Phantom's Vlad Plasmius. These characters all have dialogue datamined from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, but by no means are confirmed.

All Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl players can do is wait and see what surprises are revealed during next Friday's event. Past leaked characters could easily have been canceled or retooled. New characters may have been chosen based on a response to the launch roster. At the very least, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl players will get the DLC that has long been promised for the fighting game soon.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
