Niantic has made itself practically famous with its work with Nintendo on Pokemon Go, with how its efforts have made many players feel like the critters from the Pokemon franchise are all around them during their day-to-day lives. While the AR game for one Nintendo IP is being widely successful, Niantic and Nintendo are working on another title for another franchise that also fits the genre. A Pikmin mobile title is coming, and it recently found its new name.

The Pikmin mobile game was announced on March 22, 2021, and is currently slated for a release later this year as of this writing. The game is said to be made by Niantic's Tokyo studio and is also hosting a closed beta at the moment for some fans to see what the app plans to offer upon release. The beta has undergone an update, which has led Niantic to reveal its new, proper name.

The app is now known as Pikmin Bloom. The update also came with a fair bit of news for those playing the beta, regarding the level system and that beta players' purchases will remain in the full version of the game. The update also tells players that the Step Tank item won't be available after the game launches.

The other insight alongside the new name is that the leveling system found in the beta will be scaled to be more like Pokemon GO's leveling system at launch. The level cap in the full game will be 60, and any beta players above that will be brought back down to that level. Any other players at any other levels will remain where they are once the game is properly released.

Some players have lamented the fact that Step Tanks won't be included in the full version of Pikmin Bloom. While the item may have been helpful, it may only exist to make the limited time players have with the beta more enjoyable, which may be why it's getting removed with the full release.

Pikmin Bloom is a rather fitting name for a game dealing with walking around helping Pikmin to grow and explore the world around players. While the game is slated for release later this year, there's been no news on a release date. With the name finally decided on, there may be a release trailer headed soon for those looking forward to the game. For now, beta players can still enjoy Pikmin Bloom while it's in development.

Pikmin Bloom is currently scheduled to release in 2021.
