Bandai Namco has just released the first 15 minutes of Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom for those who simply can’t wait to see the beginning of the game.

While a warning for spoilers is standard for previews of this type, the opening scenes of Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom don’t reveal too much that hasn’t already been seen in earlier trailers. Think of it as an expanded look at some of the things that have been released previously, but view at one's discretion.

After a very brief prologue, that sets the stage and hints at events to come, Ni No Kuni 2 begins right in the middle of a coup. Shortly after the rebellion begins, a visitor from another world, Roland, magically appears in a confused King Evan’s bedroom, where they both try to grasp the events that have just unfolded.

Before long, Roland has taken up the role of mentor, helping Evan escape the castle, while imparting bits of wisdom along the way. Through Roland, the game begins to teach the player the ins and outs of combat in Ni No Kuni 2.

Eventually, the two are found by Evan’s governess/bodyguard, who makes quite an entrance. After a near encounter with the foreboding Black Knight, the preview ends. All-in-all, it's a solid look at the game. Audiences will get a grasp of how the game plays and how the story will be told, without spoiling anything crucial to the plot.

Last week, developer Level-5 released some additional tidbits on Ni No Kuni 2, such as support for HDR on PlayStation 4 and what ties it might have with the previous game in the series. It was also revealed that Ni No Kuni 2 will include about 40 hours of gameplay, which will be longer should players choose to indulge in the game's additional features, such as side quests.

There will be three versions of Ni No Kuni 2 when its released this Spring. These include the standard version of the game, the Premium Edition, and the Collector's Edition, which is jam-packed full of collectables and amusing extras. The Collector's Edition is also the only version that includes the game's season pass. Otherwise, the season pass will have to be purchased separately.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom releases March 23, 2018 for PC and PS4.
