NHL 12 is going to be a great game because of… anticipation. Are you dying to take control of your favorite NHL Legends? Then you should hop on to the Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Network and download the NHL 12 demo that was released today.
NHL 12 has promised smarter AI with improved turnover detection, goalie fights, and a new engine where size and strength matter. Today is your chance to test out all these improvements in a few different mode – the demo lets you access Play Now, Be a Pro and Hockey Ultimate Team.
The Play Now mode will throw you into the final period of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. There is no better way to experience a new NHL game than to play with the dream teams, the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks, in the third period of game seven.
Be A Pro mode will let players create their own player and control him on each of his shifts. New to NHL 12 is the ability to simulate the game between your player’s time on the ice, which should help keep the player involved and interested instead of watching the game from the bench. This mode has always been an interesting feature but being forced to sit on the sidelines until your stamina has returned was boring – and degrading. Hopefully this time saving feature is what this mode needed for a boost in entertainment value.
Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) is NHL‘s online dynasty mode – where players compete with their trading card deck team. In Hockey Ultimate Team players collect card packs by playing the mode or inviting their friends to play. Card packs contain Canadian Hockey League and American Hockey League players which can be trained and groomed to create a team from scratch – or if you’re lucky you’ll receive an NHL superstar to add to your roster.
NHL 12 includes plenty of new features, tweaks, and improvements across several game modes. EA Sports has put their efforts where it counts – by listening to what their customers want. Well, what are you waiting for? Go fight some goalies!
NHL 12 will knock your goalie’s mask off when it arrives September 13th, 2011.
