At E3 2018, Phil Spencer closed the Microsoft E3 2018 press conference by teasing that the company's next-generation console was in the works. We haven't heard much about the next Xbox since then, but if a recent rumor is to be believed, that could change come Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference in June.

The rumor stems from a NeoGAF post from a supposed industry insider who claims to have leaked Microsoft's entire E3 2019 press conference. According to the poster, Microsoft is guaranteed to talk about the next Xbox at E3 2019, which will include both the Xbox Anaconda and Lockhart. For the uninitiated, Microsoft is said to be working on a traditional console with a bit more power (Anaconda) as well as a streaming-only device that will be available at a lower price point (Lockhart).

As for what Microsoft will reveal about the next Xbox, it's said it won't be a substantial showcase of what it will have in store. As explained by the NeoGAF leaker Braldryr, it will be similar to how Microsoft initially unveiled the Xbox One X, meaning players will get a baseline of specs and not a look at the console's physical design.

rumor next xbox specs coming at e3 2019

A full reveal for the next Xbox is expected to take place at some point in 2020. Right now, most analysts peg the system for a November 2020 release date, so it's possible we won't see the physical console itself until next year's E3.

Meanwhile, some fans may be wondering when we will get to see next Xbox games. Well, it's expected that Halo Infinite will be a cross-gen title, and we know for a fact that will be at E3. Additionally, if the rumored Fable reboot is real and at E3 2019 as the leaker has said, then it could very well be the first next Xbox exclusive the world gets their eyes on.

Even if the leaker is making things up, it's still a pretty good guess that we'll at least get next Xbox specs at E3 2019. But fans will just have to tune in to Microsoft's press conference on June 9 to be sure.
