An upcoming patch for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will improve drop rates for players completing Castle Nathria. Blizzard has announced an update that will lead to better loot for the raid in World of Warcraft this week.

A significant part of most MMO games is running endgame raid dungeons. These difficult experiences require multiple players to work together, utilizing individual class strengths to take on complex challenges. Typically, the reward for doing so will be some of the best weapons, armor, and items in the game. Blizzard is seeking to improve the drops for one specific raid players are running in World of Warcraft in this patch.

However it, it should be clear that loot rates will be higher for bosses of the raid. Even with the Castle Nathria boss nerfs, a battle will result in a 33% higher amount of loot for users regardless of difficulty. Weapon tokens will also have a greater rate, but Blizzard did not specify the exact percentage. This change is flexible depending on how many players are actually completing the raid at a given time. If performing in a group of 10 players there will be two gear items, and a 20 player raid will have four gear items per boss.

Keep in mind, this patch is only affecting how the Castle Nathria raid bosses end in Shadowlands. None of the other raid dungeons in World of Warcraft will have access to the higher drop rates. In addition, the update will not change appearance rates for other types of items. If looking for Legendary Memories or Conduits, players will need to keep grinding the raid like before the patch. Players will want to hop into the MMO soon as the update should be coming with the scheduled weekly maintenance.

World of Warcraft is a game which truly stands the test of time. With an original release back in 2004, the historic MMO is still receiving patches and tweaks to improve the experience for fans. With the next patch teasing Mythic Gear upgrades and more, the game continues to deliver. A rewarding loot grind is key to maintaining interest, so these changes for Castle Nathria should be a welcome addition for players. While it sounds like running the raid will still be necessary, at least the gear drops will be plentiful.

Though, it is unfortunate that the patch is only making changes for this one specific challenge. It seems like the buff would be beneficial regardless of the raid, but for some reason Blizzard is not making it widespread. Plus, this update still has no real use for casual players, who likely do not run the difficult raids. What the case may be, those looking to grab some extra loot in one of the best MMORPGs ever will need to check out Castle Nathria.
