Game creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated that the next game in the Gran Turismo franchise is already being developed by the team at Polyphony Digital, though he isn't able to talk about it much yet. Fans are sure to be excited about another game in the Gran Turismo franchise, as the popular racing simulation games have been bestsellers on each PlayStation console generation for quite some time.
Amid the news about Gran Turismo 7's free PS VR2 update, players are now able to look forward to hearing more information about an entirely new addition to the series. Historically, there have been two Gran Turismo games for each generation of PlayStation consoles, and because Gran Turismo 7 came out for both PS5 and PS4, it makes sense that there would be another game released strictly for the PS5.
Yamauchi stated that it is unfortunate that he is unable to talk more about the development of the next Gran Turismo game. As the Gran Turismo series hits great sales milestones, the developers are sure to be looking for ways to capitalize on that success, whether it is by reaching more players with free updates, bringing the franchise to the big screen in a movie adaptation, or otherwise. Of course, because the developers are unable to talk about the next game, fans will just have to wait for more information to come over the next year about the progress of the game's development.
The upcoming Gran Turismo movie is generating quite a bit of buzz, especially with the stars that have been confirmed in the movie so far like Orlando Bloom. The curse of the video game adaptation is seemingly falling away as things like The Witcher and The Last of Us have been doing quite well.
Though many fans are upset about the lack of a PC port for Gran Turismo 7, there are still many different things within the world of Gran Turismo to look forward to. Console players can of course look forward to the PS VR2 update and the upcoming next installment in the franchise, and all fans can also look forward to the Gran Turismo film.
