Despite New World having some difficulties, the game is still going strong in terms of player numbers. The number of concurrent players dwindled a bit over the past three days, likely because of the fact that trading in New World was disabled to prevent Gold duping, which is a serious offense that Amazon Game Studios tackled with permanent bans against cheaters. Still, there is some positivity left within the community, enough for several players to enjoy the game for what it is - an MMO where everyone is at liberty of playing as they please.

This is emphasized by all the successful posts on social media sharing creative ways to get to level 60, like jumping off a cliff in a dramatic way only to land and kill a turkey for 1 missing experience point. Now, a new way to play the game came up thanks to the idea shared by a player on Reddit, and other New World players are getting together on a specific server.

The Redditor, called noobtheloser, made up the "Wilderness Challenge," which means playing New World with a new set of rules that make the experience much more frugal. In fact, the Wilderness Challenge's first rule is that players should not join a New World Faction because of the unnecessary conflicts they bring - but other quests are fine. The second rule is that everything should be made by the players without trading, which ties in to rule number 3, which forbids all use of Gold outside of paying taxes for houses or crafting sessions.

These are the three core rules, with three more that only apply to general gameplay, like playing New World with no rush and enjoying what comes or sharing the love for the outdoors with strangers in chat. There are two more important notes for the WIlderness Challenge, and they consist of naming a character as "Wilderness" combined with a monosyllabic name - like "Wilderness Tom" - and, most importantly, breaking the rules if abiding by them is not fun at any point.

Lastly, noobtheloser stated that they are playing on US East - Cedar Forest, so that more like-minded players can join and make their own Wilderness company. Ultimately, it's not uncommon for MMO fans to come up with something similar or explore every little thing, like a New World killing over 1,000 boars did to test Luck and its effects.

New World is out now for PC.
